While Rouge Cocos are my favorite Chanel lipstick formula, the Rouge Coco Shine comes in second. These are shiny, glossy, sheer lipsticks. Per Chanel's website "Hydrating Colour Lipshine, an innovative formula with intensified pigments to take Colour and sheen to a new level of vibrancy. Sheer, shiny, colour-rich shades are effortlessly chic, infinitely wearable. Hydratendre Complex softens and plumps lips for a healthier, fuller appearance." These come in a slim, chic black metal case and retail for $36 for a 3g tube.Â
The formula is sheer and glossy, they have a faint rose/perfume scent, it's not terrible or as overpowering as say D&G or some of the other French brands that heavily scent their lipsticks with that rose perfume scent. They last average time for this type of lipstick maybe 1-2 hours depending how much you eat or drink. They're moderately hydrating, they're not the most hydrating sheer lipstick I've used, nor the most drying either. I love the slim metal case, they fit well in pockets or small bags.
Reveuse is described as a beige rose. I would say that's pretty close, I would maybe just add shimmering to beige rose. The shimmer is fine, multicolored and not gritty at all. Chanel usually does refined nice shimmer and this is one of those items. Reveuse is really close to my natural lip color, so it's definitely a YLBB(your lip but better) shade. It adds a creamy beige rose tint, shimmer, and shine to my lips. That creamy beige rose base gives it a slight opacity and makes it feel more nude on the lips than swatched where it looks more pink. I believe Reveuse is permanent, and it launched with this year's summer collection.
Boy is really popular and was my first Rouge Coco Shine, as well as the only one I've kept, so that's what I have to compare it to. Boy is cooler, more purple toned than Reveuse. At first I also compared it with Charlotte Tilbury's Bitch Perfect, as in the tube the pinks seemed close, but the finish and pigmentation really didn't compare once swatched. I then re-swatched it with different light and took the Charlotte Tilbury out. I included the pictures here just in case it helps someone.
