Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter: 4 Medium

This post has been sitting in my draft box for over six months at least so time to talk about the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter complexion illuminator. This primer is a mega-watt highlighter that meets a skin perfecting filter. It’s not really a highlighter (though it can be used as one). It gives the most radiant, dewy, glow to the skin while blurring imperfections. I grabbed shade 4 Medium as I wear foundation shade 6 in her foundations. Details per Charlotte Tilbury:

Darlings, my Hollywood Flawless Filter in Shade 4 is a customisable complexion booster with the versatility of a primer, the mega-watt glow of a highlighter, and the perfecting properties of your favourite digital filter. Ingredients help to soft-focus, illuminate skin and makes lines and pores appear smoother.

The Hollywood Flawless Filter in Shade 4 is a neutral golden yellow for medium skin tones. Wear on its own or is suitable with Magic Foundation 6 Medium or Light Wonder 6 Medium.

WHAT MAKES HOLLYWOOD FLAWLESS FILTER MAGIC:

• The ultimate high gloss, high glow celebrity-skin-filter-in-a-bottle! This was born on the red carpet makeup, inspired by technology, for real life, in real time that looks amazing on-screen or off.

• Smoothing airbrush polymers roll over your complexion for a poreless-looking, creamy finish.

• Glossy Oil is a lightweight moisturising oil that reflects and adds light to your face where you need it.

• Finely milled powders soft focus, makes lines and pores appear smoother which means it only ever looks as amazing in real life, as it does on camera.

• Porcelain Flower Extract is a brightening ingredient derived from a Thai flower with natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to enhance microcirculation and brighten skin.

• Ideal for superstar-lit skin whether you want a subtle glow or a mega-watt complexion.

Suggested Application Apply the Hollywood Flawless Filter using the Magic Wand applicator to your skin.

Hollywood Glow-O-Meter:

1. Beneath it! All over prime and stretch across the skin, underneath Magic Foundation for a subtle glow and polished finish.

2. Blend it! Mix with your shade of Light Wonder or Magic Foundation on the back of your hand to amplify your Hollywood glow.

3. Boost it! Dot along the tops of your cheekbones, down the nose, above the cupid’s bow and anywhere else to glow like a Hollywood star!

4. Bling it! Go mega-watt and wear it on its own at full volume, erasing any imperfections with The Retoucher Concealer for a fresh, glossy, all-over-glow!

• Charlotte’s Tip: Follow this hybrid illuminator with the Filmstar Bronze & Glow for sculpted killer cheekbones to complete your red carpet look.

This is a dewy, hydrating primer. I really love it in the cooler weather. It’s packed with a shimmery glow but never glittery or too blingy. The neutral more olive beige toned shimmer matches my skin tone quite well which keeps it from looking frosty or washing me out. This is silicone free but does have dimethcone for some slip. It manages to blur imperfections with ease & give a major radiant glow to the skin. Perfect as a pick me up for dull skin.

You can use it as a subtle highlight but I prefer the Hollywood Beauty Light Wand as a liquid highlighter to this. I really love this one as a dewy, glowy primer. It creates a really nice canvas for makeup. You can actually wear it without foundation for a glowing natural look as well. I liked it that way as well. It’s a pretty versatile product. If you like a hydrating primer, want to blur imperfections and add some serious glow without the glitter you’ll love this one. It will be a favorite for hydrating & brightening a dull winter complexion.

This has a large sponge tip applicator which I’m not super fond of. Mostly because I don’t like rubbing the applicator on my face then putting it back into the product. I do wish this came with a pump instead. I just roll the applicator on the back of my clean hand to get the product off the applicator then apply from my hand. It makes me feel slightly better.

Youth Glow is sheerer, more white toned and thinner. Plus it has less shimmer or glow. Wonderglow is sheerer, thinner and lighter in a more champagne tinted hue. These two are really fluid and lightly hydrating so they are great in the summer or year round when you want a hint of shimmer but nothing big. Flawless Filter is more concentrated with the refined shimmer, it’s thicker plus more hydrating than both Youth Glow & Wonderglow. It also has more color to match a wider variety of skin tones.
