This week I started to think about things I've really been using lately. EVY Daily Defense Face Mousse 50 has become a quick favorite. I've been using the 30 version but finally got my hands on the 50 version and it's just as fabulous. Foam texture, lightly moisturizing, no white cast, no pilling, has a unique technology that makes it last 6 hours. It takes a while to get used to but once you do it's great. I love it for even my sensitive skin it seems to be soothing almost. Never drying but not heavy or greasy. I've been wearing Heeley Coccobello for almost two weeks with the change into warmer weather. It's a green coconut scent with a hint of vanilla to it. Top notes are Palm Leaf and Gardenia; middle notes are Coconut, Sea Salt and Vanilla; base notes are Sandalwood, Virginia Cedar and Benzoin. I absolutely adore it, one of my favorites. I'm a huge sea scent and coconut lover.
I'm trying out the Revision Nectifirm right now as a neck cream. So far the only one I've found worthwhile was by Alastin. I'm adding Revision in as a second. So far it's doing a really good job. It's thine textured which I like, my neck area doesn't need as heavy moisturization. Heavier creams almost are more detrimental as they add to congestion and texture. Nectifirm seems to reduce my three main neck creases more than regular creams and the last neck cream I tried. I know some feel neck creams aren't necessary but this one is making a visible difference just as a cream addition to my routine. Meaning my serums are the same it was only a the cream that made the difference. I would repurchase and I think this is one to add in as a favorite. Paul & Joe launched it's Spring/Summer Gel Blush in shade Lumiere Douce. I absolutely adore the Paul & Joe gel blush texture. It's cooling, water based and adds a nice light sheer blush color. It adds no weight in the summer so if you want that true light weight gel formula this one is amazing. This shade is a light peach. I hope one day they can bring back their nude pink Ondine.
There's two nights creams I've been solidly using more than others the last month. Zelens Stem Complex is a cream that I tried years back and thought it was too heavy. Now I realize it's amazing capabilities. It has this nice medium heavy glossy smooth texture. It keeps my drier skin hydrated all night. It's definitely not for more oily or combo skin. Great for drier to mature or aging skin. It's been discontinued and replaced with the new Peptide Complex. I totally need to try this new one. Review of the old one HERE though that was from when I was oilier. I also hadn't realized the power of a good plumping cream, my lines/wrinkles were fixed by years of repair, routine and retinoids. Now that I'm drier a really good plumping cream can be worth the money which I used to not think so. Biologique Recherche Creme VG Derm was the best purchase of the year. This is a newer cream to the line from what I remember. It's a medium weight glossy smooth textured cream. I have never wanted to use a cream every night like I did this one. This one is great for repairing the skin barrier. Think a Vernix light. It has marine elastin, marine collagen, essential fatty acids, coffee extract, yeast extract, wild pansy extract, cucumber and vitamin C. It's also really reasonably priced for their creams. This might end up being my favorite BR cream ever.
I use The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA every day. Even multiple times a day. I use it morning and night on Ella's face. I use it as a hand cream. I use it as a cream for the area around my nose which gets really dry. It's super cheap, great quality, nourishing, light in texture, replenishing, and it's not greasy. The best cheap facial moisturizer ever. I have like 4 open tubes right now in various places at work and in the home. Hermés relaunched it's beauty again and I grabbed the new Rosy Lip Enhancer in Rose Tan. The case is just as luxurious as the lipsticks. It's also refillable. This is a limited edition product. It's a tinted lip balm that has an almost satin or more matte sheen. It's hydrating enough, lasts well and isn't drying. I actually quite like it but it's not heavily tinted. I'd like to see other shades like maybe even a shimmering shade in the future.
