Happy Weekend. This set of favorites was taken three weeks ago it's just taken me awhile to get to writing. So lets start with scents. I was reaching for Heeley Coccobello a lot. I adore this green coconut scent. So light for summer, yet fresh and not too sweet like some coconut can be. You'll see it's one of my all time favorite summer scents because I use it all the time. I first talked about it HERE. I love a good face mist and right now I'll show you what I'm using in the morning and at night. I tend to stick to one and empty it rather than rotate mists. It helps me manage them so they don't go bad. OSKIA CityLife Facial Mist is my night one. The mist is light and super fine, the scent is ever so slightly earthy and calming. It's geared towards anti-pollution care. Think neroli & basil scent, with encapsulated astaxanthin & malachite, antioxidants EUK 134, Co-Enzyme Q10, Vitamin C & B3 plus O3 Yeast Lysate. A nice high tech mist. I like their new pump style versus the old one in a tube. Review HERE. In the daytime I'm reaching for Nini Organics Rain Hydrating Skin Essence. It has a gorgeous violet hue. Think cucumber, alfalfa, butterfly pea (helps give it the hue), neroli, inulin (prebiotics), lactic acid and hyaluronic acid. It's got such a nice pleasurable scent. I see why it sells out a lot.
While I tend to use a lot of cushion foundations in the summer, I also enjoy my Cle de Peau Radiant Stick Foundation in Ocre. Sadly it's been discontinued. It's just got this really refreshing and cooling water like feel on the skin and it actually lasts in the humidity even with sweating. It's impressive but was also very pricey. This also was very very light coverage, much like a cushion. So it wasn't for everyone. Review HERE. I also love a bit of Surratt Dew Drop Foundation because it's amazingly lightweight and super pigmented. You can use one drop to get coverage on your cheeks/around the nose for redness even over a sheer cushion or stick foundation. I wear shade 6. It is easily one of the best foundations I've used, it won't add any weight. It's utterly weightless yet the pigmentation is intense. You really only need 2-3 drops max to do your whole face. Review HERE. Fresh Beauty launched a new lip mask. Now I'm always skeptical of lip masks because most the time they don't do much for my really dry lips. The Sugar Recovery Lip Mask Advanced Therapy actually was better than I expected it to be. Has a light sweet kind of scent and taste--so pleasant. It's thin but it did stay on most the night and it did hydrate pretty well and left my lips plumper & soft. I didn't feel the need to reapply in the middle of the night like I do with 75% of the overnight lip treatments I try. I think it gives Laneige a run for their money.
I have been dying to try Mesoestetic for years. I finally saw aox ferulic go on sale at Face the Future and I grabbed it. It's one of those very pricey ascorbic acid serums. It has 15% ascorbic acid, ferulic acid and their patented Protech-cell Complex (vitamin E and peptide for specific protection against IR-A and HEV radiation). The pros: lightweight, not sticky, no alcohol or fragrance, it works. Cons: price. That's it. Well I mean it oxidizes like every ascorbic acid serum but the texture is really fantastic and I didn't find it irritating. I finally got to dive into my Zelens Z Hyaluron serum. This has been revamped when the line changed its packaging. It looks like it stayed the same but don't quote me on that. It does have a thicker serum texture but it's also light enough and not too sticky. This may be a hydrating serum but it has extras that make it more than just a typical hyaluronic acid serum. It does have three weights of encapsulated HA, exopolysaccharides, phospholipids, glycosphingolipids, beta glucan, glycerin, alginic acid, bioflavenoids and flavenoids. It's got a lot of extra hydrators beyond just HA. It's also meant to help target the enzymes that degrade hyaluronic acid and collagen. I do want to try the new version eventually. TATCHA went and launched a new overnight product and it's utterly fantastic. The Indigo Overnight Repair is a serum in cream format meant for calming & soothing the skin, helping with barrier strengthening and balancing the microbiome. The texture is so good, creamy, glossy and smooth. It's a really fantastic texture. It's light yet pretty nourishing. I love that it's free of fragrance and essential oils so sensitive skin can use it. It has Japanese Indigo extract, hyaluronic acid & ceramides plus Mondo Grass Root. If you're less dry this is a great night cream, if you get more severely dry you may add a balm or Vaseline on your cheeks which is what I did. Easily one of the best products they're launched in some time.
Top to Bottom: Cle de Peau, Surratt, Fresh, TATCHA
*TATCHA, Fresh, Nini Organics gifted but all thoughts are my own.
