Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

So been a long time since I posted a favorites post. I guess I felt it’s all I was doing for a while so I backed off then just kind of stopped. I want to try for monthly but I’m not setting any limits like it has to be done before the end of the month. I’ll just post one whenever I feel like it. It’s winter so most of these will be winter skincare related and I have a few new makeup favorites. Winter is when I get to reach for one of my all time favorite foundations–Cle de Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation. I wear shade O30 which is perfect for me. It’s light to medium coverage with a dewy finish. It has oils so it’s not summer friendly for me, but I really love it’s fluid lightweight texture and the coverage combined with the nourishing dewy finish. Great in cooler weather. Review HERE. I guess it just got discontinued which sucks. I’ll try the other new version when I run out. Why does everything I love go away? Cle de Peau makes some of my favorite foundations in multiple formulas. Scent wise I love Miller Harris La Fumee Ottoman in the winter. It’s a slightly smoky spicy scent that’s not too dry. The spicy and warm lean helps round it out but it’s not too overpowering. Very sexy scent. Top notes are Cumin, Cardamom, Rose and Bergamot. Middle notes are Incense, Cedar and Patchouli. Base notes are Amber, Rose, Fruits, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Tonka Bean.

I love cream eyeshadows. They’ve really been my go to instead of powders for a few years. I decided to grab Bobbi Brown Cream Eyeshadow Stick in Golden Bronze during the Sephora sale and it’s become an instant favorite. The color is shimmering neutral brown, I can get ready in five minutes with it yet look done and polished. It also doesn’t budge or crease all day long. Easy to use and long lasting. All I need. I’ve come to learn that Danessa Myricks Colorfix Eye in Celebration in the perfect base for any eyeshadow. It’s a non-creasing and non-smudging cream mid tone brown with a hint of shimmer. It also is great on it’s own but it really just works with so many other shades as well. I wasn’t into the new Lisa Eldridge Liquid Lurex Anjelica liquid eyeshadow at first as it was a bit more copper rose than I anticipated. However, it looks utterly fabulous over Danessa Myricks Celebration. Non-creasing and lasts all day. The overall effect is stunning together. Recently I got back into Siam Seas Yen Heal and Hydrate Toner. This was one of the first ever essences I tried many years back. It’s slippery and hydrating with a hint of a creamy feel to the liquid. Think aloe, amla, ashwagandha, chamomile, cucumber, gingko, goji, pomegranate, prickly pear, squalane, tamarind, skullcap, beta glucan, ginseng, sodium PCA and more. It’s a treasure trove for any green beauty lover. The scent is light, herbal, relaxing and total perfection. Happy to have it back in my life again.

I have four creams I’ve been using a lot lately, two are day use, two night use. Decree Peptide Emollient Veil is a heavier weight glossy day cream for me. It has peptides in a really nice creamy, smooth base. No scent. This is the lighter of their two creams. Overall think emollient, hefty, creamy texture. Not greasy or heavy but really nourishing. A little pricey (like half the skincare world) but for winter it’s really nice. I love the tube pump packaging as well. African Botanics Silver Rescue Cream is a thicker cream that I find perfect for cold or more winter days. It’s their first essential oil free product and also has CBD so it’s calming and soothing. Perfect for sensitive skin. It also has colloidal silver and fatty acids plus humectants & occlusives. Not heavy or greasy more satin finish, but it’s hefty enough cream wise to nourish well. Overall, I’d go with medium weight. Review HERE.

Night wise I’ve been super into Jan Marini Age Intervention Face Cream. At first I thought this was way too heavy for me but right now it’s actually perfect. It’s a whipped texture and more emollient fatty acid based cream. This is for dry or mature skin, not combo. Go with Transformation Cream if you’re combo. If you’re dry or mature this is for you. It’s very emollient and really replaces fatty acids well. It’s a nice replenishing moisturizer. I’ve actually almost blown through the jar quite easily in the last few year. It’s almost like a balm meets a cream but it lasts longer than most balms on me. African Botanics Fleurs d’Afrique Intensive Recovery Cream has been a long time favorite of mine. This nourishing cream lasts through the night well and really moisturizes. It has a light herbal jasmine scent mixed with herbal extracts, think light scent nothing heavy. Completely tolerable for me. It’s actually more medium weight and has a bouncy juicy texture. It doesn’t feel heavy at all. Really a pleasant cream to use. It has ceramides, oligosaccharides, blue marine micro-algae, oxidoreductase, centella, resurrection plant along with many other extracts and ingredients. What I love about it is its ability to nourish without being too heavy and last overnight. So many creams die off halfway through the night but this one lasts longer on my skin. I have super supple, bouncy, hydrated skin in the morning. This is like the green beauty cream for dry and aging skin. Review HERE and HERE.
