This week was all about discovering (and rediscovering) hair care. A couple old favorites and some new discoveries. I just finished my Make P:rem UV Defense me Capsule sun gel. This is easily one of my all time favorite sunscreens. It's a clear serum style, absolutely no white cast and it's never greasy or heavy. It feels like a skincare serum not like sunscreen. I would 100% recommend it and repurchase it. It's perfect in the summer or any hot and humid environment. I talked about it HERE.
I kind of forgot about my Hermes Un Jardin Apres La Mousson. It's from the Un Jardin series. This aquatic spicy scent has notes of ginger, cardamom, coriander, pepper and vetiver. It's light and refreshing for summer with a spicy twist. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Perfector Skin Tint Foundation has the best light gel texture. It's so perfect for summer. You can get some light coverage like a tinted moisturizer without the moisturizer feel. I had forgotten about my Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion for a while. I've been so focused on my texture sprays that I've neglected this beautiful lotion. It manages to gives perfect waves (like a spray) without any sticky or crunchy feel. The waves last all day and my hair never gets frizzy as with a salt spray. Review HERE.
Omorovicza is one of my all time favorite skincare brands. The Hungarian spa brand newly launched this creamy Cashmere Cleanser. This is such a hydrating, comforting and soothing cream cleanser. It's perfect for a morning cleanse. Calendula, shea butter, apricot kernel oil & Hungarian thermal waters are the key ingredients. More to come. Rita Hazan is a new brand to me. I was looking for a product to reduce brassiness and the Ultimate Shine Gloss in Breaking Brass looked great. This foam glosses your hair and adds enough tint to help reduce brassiness. You use this in the shower after shampooing before conditioner. So far I'm pleased with the gloss level it adds plus it does tone down the brassiness.
Cocokind Skincare is an organic brand. I grabbed three things from them recently. MAI-Light Maitake Rose Highlighter is a shimmering rose gold shade that you can use all over your face and even lips. I like the large chapstick feel to the tube and the shade is a perfect highlight for my skin tone. Besides being a highlighter this has organic maitake mushroom which delivers hydration and helps to combat inflammation and environmental or free radical stressors on skin. I've been loving this the most as a shimmering chapstick. It gives a hydrating matte finish to the lips, in addition to the rose gold tint.
Pat McGrath launched new tinted versions of her Lip Fetish Lip Balm. I grabbed Nude Astral a clear base balm with cooler pink glitter. The glitter is not as gritty as I thought it would be. It's there a touch. I always adore Pat McGrath's packaging it's so artistic and unique. This balm has a light vanilla scent and taste which is my favorite for a lip product. The pink color is a bit too cool for my skin tone I'm thinking the copper tone of Bronze Astral is more for me. It's an OK product. It's really just clear balm with pink glitter. A little over priced. If the color was more shimmering and unique I would be more into it and the price. Love the packaging and scent.
I've been testing my own customized Prose hair care set. Prose allows you to truly customize shampoo & conditioner for you. I'll be going into it more in an in depth review coming up. But in just one week I'm already very impressed with it's performance. The set includes three pieces-shampoo, conditioner & a pre-shampoo mask. This mask is not a conditioning treatment it's meant to open the cuticle of the hair shaft to allow the shampoo and conditioner to work optimally. More to come soon.
