Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

While the weather may have changed for the colder for a vast majority of you, here in South Texas it had still been a humid 80 last week. We just had a new drop to low 50s and my artificial heat comes on which means I start living in balms at night and using heavier products. I just started throwing on the new Votary Intense Eye Oil. I’m a huge fan of the Intense Night Oil so I was excited to play with the eye version. I love an eye oil on top of my eye cream at night to really help with that winter dryness. My eyes are the driest area of my face. I feel like I could apply any kind of oil or balm multiple times a day just to get relief. This oil is a medium weight, it has a gentle yet effective rentiod as well. Almond, apricot and avocado oils will soothe that dry eye area while plant extract help firm and regenerate the area. Retinol as you know will boost collagen and help keep lines at bay. I’m smitten. More to come.

I got this INLIGHT Line Softener Intensive in my November Beauty Heroes box. I had never tried the brand and in one use this totally blew me away for a balm. It’s so light, sinks right in and really hydrates and nourishes without being heavy or greasy. I love it. More to come when I talk about the November box soon. VENN Skincare All in One Concentrate has been a fast favorite of mine so I was excited to see they launched a new Concentrated Revitalizing Lifting Mask. This creamy mask is packed with an impressive number of peptides and other antioxidants (much like their killer concentrate). This can be worn as a creamy hydrating mask that you remove or you can substitute it for a night cream and get a really hydrating, powerful night cream out of it. That’s how I prefer to use it. It’s not heavy at all just intensely moisturizing and it leaves skin super hydrated, firm and lifted the next morning. More to come.

Becca launched a new Shimmering Skin Perfector in Berlin Girl Glow and it’s probably the best one they’ve ever made. Described as a cool honey with light-shifting pink & blue pearls. It’s perfect for my almost medium skin tone. Most Becca highlighters really kill it with the frosty level, Berlin Girl Glow is more natural. Still has the same great soft, pigmented texture. It’s just easier to wear than Opal for me. It is a cool beige with a pink and blue hint. The blue is more prominent but not in a normal blue highlighter fashion. Normally I can’t do too cool or blue highlighters but this one overall feels neutral and the blue is not intense or very prominent. It’s really hard to find a neutral highlight that’s not champagne. Most are too warm or cool. I love the beige shade, sadly it’s limited but the main Becca site still has it in stock.

Mad Hippie is a brand I have never tried. I just happened to get this Vitamin A Serum from a friend and it so pleasantly surprised me. The texture is phenomenal. It’s got a light hydrating serum texture. I hate creamy retinol serums as I prefer mine more fluid and serum like. It combines aloe, oat beta glucan and Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate a new retinol that I like. It’s gentle, effective and has low side effects. I’m totally smitten and might have to check more out from the line.

107 Oneoseven Core Flex Essential Liquid combines saccharomyces and lactobacillus ferments with traditionally brewed Hanega vinegar for a radiance and balancing treatment. It’s got a water like texture and I use it like an essence and pat it into the skin. Namari is a new to me brand out of Switzerland. KOKON is a creamy oil based cleanser that also rinses clean. It’s got a thick creamy yellow texture and color. It removes makeup because of the argan, hazelnut and cashew seed oils. It’s also got cashew seeds, Peru Balsam, cocoa, vanilla, turmeric, calendula & sweet orange. It’s really unique and so far I’m quite enamored with it. It smells heavenly-sweet and nutty at the same time. I need more from this line now.

Kat Burki PH+ Enzyme Essence is not a newbie for me. In fact it’s a project empty for me now. That means it’s close to expiring so I will use it as much as possible until it’s gone. So by using it a ton the last two weeks I remembered how much I love it. This is a hydrating light gel essence that absorbs quickly. This has Arnica, Gotu Kola, Lavender, Calendula, Chamomile, Aloe, Orange Hydrosol, Witch Hazel, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Cucumber Hydrosol, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Wild Cherry, Carica Papaya & Turmeric.
