I have some spring vibes for sure with this weeks picks of favorites. The weather is still flip flopping between warm and cool so I’m able to use heavier items still. I’ve really been loving the light whipped airy texture of the Fresh Creme Ancienne Soft Cream. I’ve tried quite a few samples in the past and always loved the nourishing yet light feel of this cream. It reminds me of La Mer The Soft Cream in some aspects. This is just one of those delicious creams you try and can’t get out of your head because it’s really pleasant to use. It’s got meadowfoam seed oil, vitamin E, echinacea and chamomile wax. And yes it’s still hand made by monks in a monastery I asked. More coming on the whole Creme Ancienne line.
I love a good bargain brand when I can find one. Good Molecules just launched on Beautylish and I grabbed a few items. The Hyaluronic Acid Serum blew me away with it’s phenomenal texture. It’s got such a light fluid texture for a cheap product. This retails for $6. If you’re looking for a budget hyaluronic acid serum go try this one. The price point and texture are spot on. I’ve been obsessed with the VDL Lumilayer Primer Fresh since I grabbed it. This has a light fluid texture and a red and white pearl pigment mix. It’s similar to the glow from the Armani Fluid Sheers. Just a bit more intense. It’s got a gel serum texture. It does have alcohol and fragrance so if you’re not into those two things at all you might skip this. I didn’t fin either one bothersome for me.
I’ve been wearing Fresh Cannabis Santal all week and I love it. I love the cute little bottle it comes in but better yet the scent is light yet warm and my favorite Fresh scent. It’s a light warm woody scent with notes of:
Top Notes: bergamot, Brazilian orange, black plum
Middle Notes: patchouli, cannabis accord, rose
Bottom Notes: chocolate, vetiver, vanilla musk.
Purito is an affordable K Beauty brand that’s actually natural and clean. They have quite a few nice products. I’m totally smitten with their Centella Green Level Safe Sun. This has such a light texture & no white cast. It’s not sticky, heavy or greasy. It has the perfect texture. Plus it’s cheap. It’s a chemical sunscreen for those who prefer that term. It uses Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate & Ethylhexyl Triazone both of which have an EWG rating of 1. Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream has a decadent lush texture. It’s rich and nourishing while not being really heavy or greasy. It’s definitely one of the heavier Tatcha creams. It’s got Japanese purple rice, Okinawa algae blend (fermented), hyaluronic acid, ginseng, wild thyme and sweet marjoram. This was great as a winter day cream but it’ll move to being a night summer cream for me. If you like a dewy radiant glow this id the moisturizer for you.
Another sunscreen I’ve been reaching for a lot the last two weeks is the Priori Tetra fx251 SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion. This is a mineral sunscreen with a natural tint. It has a light lotion texture so no heavy or greasy feel. The texture is really phenomenal. It’s weightless and has none of the normal mineral sunscreen problems like white cast or heavy feel. It actually evens out skin tone too because of the tint so you could go makeup free. It’s easily one of the top three mineral sunscreens I’ve ever tried. In addition to sun protection this is a multifaceted sunscreen. It has a DNA enzyme complex plus HEV and Infrared protection complex for protection from damaging free radicals, pollutants, sun radiation and blue light. It’s also got antioxidant powerhouse superoxide dismutase & ergothioneine. It’s a stellar product. More to come.
