It’s been too long since I’ve done one of these posts. Lately I’ve been all about the lighter textured beauty products. Lightweight foundations, cream blushes & highlighters, even lighter cleansers and moisturizers. I live in lightweight gel & cushion foundations once it’s hot and humid out. I recently grabbed the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick and I love it. It’s got this water like cooling sensation plus a super lightweight, buildable coverage. It has this moisture rich feeling yet it sets down and lasts quite well throughout the day, even in this Texas summer heat and humidity. I love the light to medium skin like finish this gives. It’s also really affordable and they have a larger shade range than most with these types of foundations. I love a good cushion foundation. I already reviewed the La Mer The Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation but it’s been my cushion of choice for the last few weeks. I love that it comes with one refill and another sponge. I wear shade Warm Bisque. I love the light to medium coverage with a satin finish. It has a nice longevity to it as well and doesn’t break down even in summer heat. Review HERE.
I love cream blushes and highlighters. They help make such an easy quick look. I love formulas that have good pigment and longevity. Westman Atelier makes some killer cream blushes. The packaging stunning with it’s magnetic closure and heavy weight packaging while the blush is creamy, not oily or greasy and has great color payoff with a nice comfort satin matte finish. I love cream blushes that aren’t too dewy. I reviewed the whole Westman Atelier line HERE. The new shade Chouchette is described as a nude peach. It’s the perfect creamy peachy pink nude. My favorite type of shade. I have a feeling many will love this new shade. The shade is exclusive to the Westman Atelier site as of right now. I’ve been grabbing a few new creamy highlighters and the YSL Touche Eclat Shimmer Stick Highlighter in Rose Gold spoke to me. I love a rosy champagne. This one if fully grown up shimmer with a thin creamy satin texture that lasts all day. As a bonus it smells like watermelon. More to come.
I decided to try the Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner for the summer because it seemed like a nice cheap dupe for the pricey Amore Pacific essence. This has 80% green tea extract combined with willow bark extract to help minimize sebum and balance the skin. It also helps brighten and provide antioxidants. It’s also $20 which is a steal. It’s a touch less hydrating than Amore Pacific and fragrance free. I think it’s a good dupe. I found myself reaching for my Ayuna CREAM Light a lot last week as I was writing my final review. I forgot how much I loved it until I pulled it out again. The light cream version is perfect for summer nights as far as weight goes. You can read my review HERE. It’s such a special cream it just makes your skin feel so amazing. I love the brands philosophy and the ingredients are so good.
I decided to grab another jar of the Kat Burki Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm because the scent is so utterly divine. It has this light glorious cucumber scent. I love the texture of this. It has a thick jelly kind of texture but it has oils that completely remove makeup. So it cleanses like an oil balm but feels like a jelly. It’s really a thicker gel-oil balm cleanser in a jar. It’s the perfect lightweight product for summer plus the cucumber scent is so refreshing. I’ve been reaching for the Earthwise Beauty Ambrosia del Cerrado Liquid Moisturizer for a few weeks since I got it. It’s the perfect lightweight moisturizer for summer. It’s got aloe, pequi fruit oil, buriti fruit oil, moringa and elderberry. This never feels heavy or greasy and just gives the perfect veil of moisture needed for summer.
