So it's pretty much a nice heatwave here in Texas right now. Nothing like back to school when it's 100+. I've been pulling out my Heeley Sel Marin a lot this week. I love it's earthy, breezy sea scent. Sea scents are my all time favorite type of scent. Lemon. Italian Bergamot. Sea Salt. Moss. Algae. Vetiver. Cedar. Musk. This one is light and fresh yet has a nice earthy, green edge. I've been slathering on Siam Seas Kwam Rak Body Serum all week. This has a super lightweight emulsion texture. It's an oil meets lotion with a nice warm spicy earthy edge (mustard seed) mixed with sweet florals (frangipani & jasmine sambac). It hydrates like an oil but feels like a lotion. The lightweight texture is perfect for summer.
I've been totally loving the new VENN Moisture-Balance All-In-One Face Cleanser for a while. I'm so behind in posting about it. I'll be rectifying that next week. This has a creamy gel texture. What I like about this so much is how non-drying and hydrating it is. I love it as a morning or second cleanse. It's got a nice low pH and a perfect texture. I didn't expect to love it, but I did. I've really been into the highlighter sticks this year. I think there's been quite a few good ones that have been newly released. I just grabbed the Guerlain Terracotta Highlighter Stick in Nude. This has a thin texture, plus it's got a nice pigmented adult shimmer with no glitter. Nude is a neutral champagne. It's long lasting and easy to blend in.
I've been reaching for really lightweight primers all summer. I tend to like silicone free (or mostly silicone free). I find silicone primers make me more oily in the summer. I've been using pretty much Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow and Sisley Double Tenseur exclusively for weeks. Wonder Glow is a nice thin gel serum with a champagne shimmer. It great for blurring with the light shimmer and plumping/hydrating with it's texture. It give a nice light, dewy base for foundation. My tube has literally lasted forever so it was easily worth the money. I really love Sisley Double Tenseur. It's a gel as well that hydrates and lifts. I didn't want to like it because it's so pricey, but it's an excellent lightweight gel style primer.
I've been completely blown away by the Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask. I picked this up in NY in February and it's been in constant rotation since I brought it home. I always loved the mask and this has a similar creamy yet gel texture. This is light non-suffocating and leaves my skin with the most plumped radiant dewy look the next morning. It just about erases my fine lines overnight. This became one of my all time favorite Fresh products. More to come. I love trying new to me brands and MHCsc Skincare Boost was a quick favorite. This is a clinical brand that uses stem cells. Boost is a gel cream with an impressive inci list. This lightweight moisturizer has a multitude of peptides, amino acids & growth factors, oils, sea kelp ferment, glutathione, lipoic & ferulic acid, coffee fruit extract, acai, aloe, superoxide dismutase, beta glucan & beta carotene. It has no added fragrance which I love. Great first impression this week.
