Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

I know I haven’t done one of these posts in a while. Mostly as I stopped buying flowers just for one shot during the week. So I will be trying to come up with ways I like to present these shots to you. For this week it’s seashells as it still feels like summer here as it’s in the mid-nineties all week. I haven’t talked about Plantioxidants yet and I should. I’m totally obsessed with their Tea Tincture Toner. First off I love the matte emerald pearly green packaging, it’s all from recycled plastic too. The pump is nice and it’s well made. The toner is lightly hydrating and packed with a ton of great antioxidants and plant extracts. The toner has ginseng & rose water, rooibos, white & oolong tea, prickly pear, matcha, camu camu, cherry, elderberry, pomegranate, chokecherry, coffee cherry, goji, blueberry, artochike, acai and sea buckthorn oil to name a few. It power packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory extracts. I love the light natural scent and would completely repurchase.

I started using an essence by a new to me brand I got off of Cult Beauty called Shani Darden. The Daily Toning Essence has a light hydrating slippery liquid texture. This essence has a fun plastic packaging. It’s chic yet practical and lightweight. The essence has sake water, niacinamide and green tea extract. It has a super light pleasant refreshing scent with a fun bouncy texture. I love ascorbic acid as my preferred form of vitamin C and this new Triology Vitamin C Booster Treatment is really nice. It’s a powder ascorbic acid that you mix into a lightweight (watery textured) soothing base of aloe and hyaluronic acid. It’s only 6% ascorbic acid so it will not be as irritating as a higher strength so more people can use this. I find it completely non-irritating. I love the fresh mix ascorbic acid serums. This is good for two weeks after mixing and has no bad scent or sticky texture. The watery texture sinks right in.

I recently pulled out my Mahalo The Unveil Cleanser Melt Concentrate again. Every time I use this green beauty I’m so relaxed. This is a balm to milk so no cloth required (though I like to use a cloth with this one). It has matcha, papaya, avocado, macadamia, sunflower, arnica, calendula, gotu kola, holy basil, willow bark, tamanu, pumpkin and cocoa butter (to name a few). The light citrus scent and divine rich texture are total perfection. If you like Farmacy Green Clean and it’s scent then this one is the deluxe green beauty version. I wasn’t sure what to expect over Eighth Day Skin but I saw their eye cream in the magazines (New Beauty in particular) and had to try it. The Eye Renewal Cream uses vitamins and peptides to brighten and tighten the eye area. I’m always skeptical when magazines hype products up because I know how much marketing can go on there. I will say I was pleasantly surprised at how good this eye cream is. It lived up to the hype. It’s hydrating enough for my dry eyes and it really does tighten and lift the undereye area quite well for me. It doesn’t do a lick of anything for me as far as dark circles goes but nothing does as I have mentioned many times (I have hereditary circles nothing fixes). There will be more on this eye cream soon.

My favorite brow combo lately has been Surratt Expressioniste Brow Pencil in Blonde with Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in Blonde. The Surratt pencil is the hard skinny type but it’s pigmented and actually glides on the skin without feeling like it’s ripping my hairs out. It lasts all day as well. Review HERE. I love how light the Hourglass gel is. It holds and shapes the hairs without flaking or feeling too heavy, crunchy or sticky. I had been kind of neglecting my Surratt pencil in lieu of the marker styles lately but sometimes I love the simplicity and ease of this amazing skinny pencil. Plus the tip is refillable so less waste. Ritual de Fille makes some of the best cream highlighters. I love their Rare Light Lumizers. The creamy highlighter has the perfect level of complex shimmer, pigmentation and the texture isn’t too creamy/oily nor too dry. It lasts all day. Phosphene is my favorite shade but I got a new shade in an exclusive kit-Icebow. The special limited shade “expresses a spectrum of light in one color, from wearing as silvery ivory with hints of shell pink on the lightest complexions, to wearing as a soft and incredibly flattering lavender on the deepest complexions. On all complexions, it wears as a beautifully natural, diffused and lit-from-within glow.” It’s not too cool I can’t wear it but not too warm either. It’s on the verge of being too light for me but it works as a nice brightener.

I love cream blush. I recently was given Merle Norman Cheek Crayon in Pink Lotus. I love the nude peachy pink shade as that is my favorite type of blush shade. This has a nice velvety creamy texture. The pigmentation is actually pretty good too. I find it lasts around 8 hours before starting to fade. I love the rose gold accents as well.
