Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

This week I must have been on a Tom Ford kick. I also pulled out an old favorite foundation and creamy cleanser. I also have a new face balm, sunscreen & eye quad I've been obsessed with. I'm sorry I didn't get any in-between posts done this week but it just didn't work out. This week was all about a quick eye for me (though that tends to be my normal every week as of late). The Chanel Stylo Ombre Et Contour has been one of my favorite stick eyeshadow discoveries this year. It can be a chubby eyeliner but I prefer it for a long lasting cream eyeshadow look. I pair Electric Brown (deeper cool brown) with Vague (medium light taupe). The pearl or shimmer in these two is very light, it mostly just helps with depth versus a shimmery look. They are a touch tacky at first but once they set they last all day long. I like them better than other popular cream eyeshadow sticks (minus By Terry that one is amazing too).

Speaking of cream eyeshadows another all time favorite is the Tom Ford Cream Color For Eyes in Platinum. This creamy, shimmery taupe is one of the only cream eyeshadows to last all day long on me. No fading or creasing. It took me two years to finish the last pot and I used it a ton so I feel it's worth the money as it lasted a long time. Review HERE. I love cream eyeshadows like these two from Chanel and Tom Ford. I want to be able to get ready in the morning in five to ten minutes max and a nice easy cream eyeshadow that lasts all day helps me in that task. I pulled out my Cle de Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation as I do every fall. It has light to medium coverage, a weightless fluid foundation texture with a radiant dewy hydrating finish. It suits me best in the fall to spring as it's hydrating and dewy. I adore the weightless skin like coverage. Mine is almost empty and I will most definitely repurchase. It's one of my favorite fluid foundations. I wear O30. Review HERE.

Even though I tend to be focused on a quick face in the morning I do like to play with a good powder eyeshadow now and then. Tom Ford launched a few new quads with their winter soleil collection. Soleil d'Hiver looked like the warm neutral quad I had been waiting for from the brand. In the duo wet/dry finish formula this has a sparkling pale nude, iridescent pink peach, medium sparkling brown and deeper chocolate brown. This beats Nude Dip for me because it's warmer. The pale shade has too much micro glitter for me but the other three shades are really good for the neutral lover. Once I tried this I wore it for days it's so good. More to come.

I've been wanting to try Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence for a while now. I grabbed a sample then caved with a big one. It has a light creamy water based texture that leaves no white cast and it's not too heavy or greasy nor too matte and drying. It's like adding a light lotion level of hydration. It's got chemical filters and no alcohol. I find it non-drying and should suit most. I see why it's so popular. I feel like I've been reaching for my African Botanics Fleur de Rose Cream Cleanser all week. It's not a heavy cream cleanser and it's got added benefits like healing Dragon's Blood, exfoliating salicylic and lactic acids plus a complex of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory botanicals. It makes a great morning or second cleanser. Review HERE.

Always reaching for my cozy fall scents right now I've been using Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous all week. This is a spicy woody oriental with lavender, bitter almond, vanilla, orris root, irris flower & leather. This has a lot of facets to it. Warm, sweet, leather and fresh all in one. There's just something about Tom Ford's scents plus I'm drawn to leathers in general. You can't ignore the statement name either. It's a good transitional fall to winter scent. I love Aussie brand Lepaar. The December Boxwalla box features Lepaar and I couldn't be more excited. The brand sun infuses their products for 4-6 months with no electricity. All of Lepaar's products contain 24K gold, frankincense and myrrh. The Luminous Face Balm is easily my favorite of the box. This facial balm has an almost melty texture. It's light yet completely nourishing and softens my skin. It's got chamomile, carrot root, turmeric, pumpkin seed & kakadu plum to name a few. More to come next week. It retails for over $100 but you an get it plus two other items for over half off by signing up for the Boxwalla box.
