Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

Hope you all had a great holiday week. For once I actually had quite a bit of time off which is never the case for me. It was nice and relaxing to just have family & me time. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it almost being the end of the year and decade. I just got the Bioderma Ultra-Soothing Balm and it's instant love. This is a huge bottle with a pump dispenser. The product is a barrier repair cream. It's a light textured cream or heavy lotion. It's rich and nourishing but oddly not heavy or greasy. It soothes and repairs so well and I love that it's fragrance free. I can use this on my body but I actually have been loving as a nice day hand cream. It lasts and relieves itching right away.

Skin & Lab is a new to me K Beauty brand. I like the nice inci lists which is pretty clean and well done at least on the four items I received. Dr. Troubles+ Medica Balancing Toner is a soothing and balancing toner. It's really lightweight with no fragrance. It has niacinamide, glycerin, centella asiatica, allantoin, panthenol, turmeric and aloe. Centella asiatica is very soothing and calming. Niacinamide is the ultimate multi-tasker helping with improving barrier repair, reducing fine lines, pore size, uneven skin tone & texture. I've always been curious about the Maelove brand & I'm testing a few items out right now. The Love 31 Precious Face Oil has 31 botanical extracts. I love the nourishing feel yet it's got a lightweight texture. It almost reminds me in texture and scent of Vintners Daughter. I haven't gotten to compare the inci lists of the two yet that was just first impression. The texture is nice and the quality of this oil is good (I need a good texture in an oil as I've become spoiled with high quality ones). More to come.

I'm finally able to pull out my Ultra Violette Queen Screen now that's it's a bit cooler. This is a lightweight fluid sunscreen with no white cast. While the texture is really lightweight this sunscreen is actually quite moisturizing hence why I use it in the cooler months. It works well with makeup and has no pilling. If I had to pick one winter soother product it would be May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon. This balm is the ultimate in soothing. Have winter stressed skin, this will fix it. The blue tansy gives this balm a very aromatic scent. If you love blue tansy you'll love this. I love the lightweight texture of it as well, it's not too heavy so I can use it longer during the year. Review HERE. This is jar number two for me, it tends to be a winter staple for me.

You all know how much I love Miller Harris. The British perfume house has such nice complex niche scents. They helped get me into fragrance years back. Feuilles de Tabac is one of their deeper scents perfect for winter. It has a deep tobacco base with spice and a hint of green and sweet. It's not too dry or deep though it is definitely a good winter scent or for those who love a deeper scent. Top: Bergamot Italy, Sage France, Pine needle Siberia. Middle: Cascarilla oil Cuba, Pimento berries. Bottom: Patchouli Indonesia, Tonka bean, Tobacco leaf France. I first talked about it HERE.

SUQQU has been one of my all time favorite makeup brands for years now. The Japanese brand is high quality and their blushes and eyeshadows are phenomenal. They recently launched singles and my favorite is the Tone Touch 05 Yawatsumugi. This is a slightly pinked mid tone brown with a hint of copper. It still remains neutral and makes a great base lid shade. It looks extra sparkly in the pan but it's actually not glittery at all on. I love shimmering (not glittery) mid-tone browns. They make up the majority of my eyeshadows. Sadly this one is sold out still on Selfridges and I had to get mine from a Japanese reseller (their availability to purchase at an online retailer is quite bad, something I hoped one day would be fixed with their increase in popularity).

Speaking of Japanese makeup another of my favorite indulgences is THREE Cosmetics. The Japanese brad is very hard to get in the US you have to buy through a third party reseller essentially. Daringly Demure is their sheer moisturizing formula. I grabbed shade 05 Sound of Freedom recently and am completely in love with it. Some sheer formulas can be drying for me but not this one. It's lightly creamy and hydrating plus my lips never feel dry by the end of the day. The lipstick does have a plant oil base. The shade is a nude pinky peach that makes a perfect my lips but better shade. It's also pretty pigmented for a sheer formula which I enjoy. These two pieces were the best out of my recent Japanese beauty haul.
