This week I'm playing with some oldies, project empties and newbies (what else is new). I'm on a mission to use up my OKOKO Secret du Dragon Gel-to-Milk Radiance Mask. I've had it a while which means it goes on frequent rotation until it's gone. This is a gel oil balm that you can use as a cleanser or a mask. It has a gel oil texture that emulsifies and rinses clean. It has purifying and healing Dragon's Blood extract, kombo butter, squalane, blue tansy & papaya enzymes. It never strips the skin and leaves it hydrated and supple. Great as a morning cleanse. This is much better than the first version that launched years back which was in a jar and more oily. I love gel oil balms so it's no surprise I love it. You can also leave it on for a while as a treatment mask then rinse, perfect before the shower. Speaking of shower products one of my all time favorites is the Fresh Sugar Face Polish. Use this brown sugar and strawberry polish in the shower for the ultimate nourishing experience. Apply in the shower, let the shower steam it into the skin. The sugar is a humectant and this leaves skin totally hydrated and glowing. It's an instant radiance boost and leaves you glowing. I recently grabbed a new Byredo scent so while I was waiting for it to arrive I spritzed Rodeo on everyday. This scent tends to make frequent appearances in my favorites posts for good reason. It's a lighter more feminine leather. I'm a huge leather fan. If you like leather but want a slightly lighter less dry twist on it, this one is for you. It was very limited. Top: Leather Accord, Heart: Suede, Midnight Violet, Base: Vetiver, Black Amber. It's one of my Byredo favorites. I've been loving the Votary Antidote Night Oil lately. The Lavender & chamomile essential oils are very soothing before bed. I'm rubbing it on my arms before bed which I find very relaxing. Not to mention hydrating. You can use this in a bath as well before bed but I just like it as a before bed soother on the body. Review HERE.
I totally missed out on TATCHA The Kissu Lip Mask when it launched last year but I made sure to snag it on Sephora when it came back. This is a jelly textured lip mask with Japanese peach & rose extracts plus camellia oil. It has an oil meets jelly texture that's really great at hydration. I love the unique texture and it actually surprised me how hydrating it was. I like it most in the day it wouldn't last all night long on me. I recently became obsessed with Medik8. I've been using the Crystal Retinal 6 this week and I adore the texture. It's a light cream that's easy to spread and absorbs quickly. It has stabilized retinal (encapsulated retinaldehyde), hyaluronic acid, carrot seed oil, 3-0-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, vanilla, cloudberry & tonka extracts. So far it's been effective yet gentle and low on the side effects. I love retinal in general and this one has been one of my favorites so far.
I caved and finally grabbed the Cle de Peau Radiant Liquid Rouge Shine Liquid Lipstick in Sepia. This is a glossy creamy lipstick with a low tacky/sticky texture. I love the pink nude shade as that's my favorite type. I'm not a lip gloss person anymore so this is as close as it gets for me. It has a medium pigmentation and the color is perfect for my boring pink nude your lip but better preferences. The Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham Morning Aura Illuminating Cream has been in heavy rotation lately. It's a shimmering moonlit primer that has a moisturizing feel yet also sets down to a satin finish. So it's hydrating but it's not greasy or heavy. It doesn't have silicones (that I can remember, it has been DC'd for a while). It makes a really nice base if you want that blurring glow and light plumping hydrating layer. I'm super curious how the new one with Augustinus Bader compares to this. Review HERE.
