Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

Another week on edge for everyone I’m sure. I finally started using my Rita Hazan True Color Shampoo & Conditioner and I’m instantly obsessed. The texture is thin and creamy, it manages to leave my hair super soft and really glossy without any added weight. I’m already a fan of their True Color Ultimate Shine Gloss as a brass reducing in shower treatment so I decided to grab this set and it did not disappoint. I would absolutely repurchase these. I’m almost done with my last bottle of OKOKO Elixir de Clarte. I completely adore this 5% AHA exfoliant. It’s got a water light texture so it’s almost like an acid toner. It’s super gentle at 5% so it can be used twice a day or in conjunction with another acid product. It smells like vanilla which I adore. It may be a little pricey but it actually lasts longer than you would expect. It’s got aloe, glycerin, lactobacillus, licorice, green tea and seaweed. The 5% AHA comes from natural sources not straight glycolic acid.

Child Perfume is one of those fragrances I’ve had for a while. I think it was my first niche fragrance purchase years back. I’m not a traditional white floral lover so I’m surprised I love it, but it’s not too powdery or sweet. It’s very spring and crisp plus unique. Top notes: vanilla, lilac, faint magnolia. Middle notes: jasmine tuberose, violet. Base notes: creme musk, rose, mimosa. It’s hand poured and pretty much the only white floral that doesn’t give me a headache. I was playing with the Cle de Peau Radiant Cream to Powder Foundation for review and I remembered why I loved it so much. It’s got a weightless cream semi-matte finish that looks like skin. It doesn’t dry out my skin while giving a soft finish blurring effect to the skin. Review HERE. I got the PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Lip Booster as a gift with purchase on a website. I honestly have never tried anything form the brand. It’s so good though. Seriously impressed. It has a gel texture and it’s great for a slightly glossy day hydration and plumping. It’s not my night lip moisturizer of choice but it’s a really great weekend or day balm. It has an almost slightly fruity flavor I really like too, plus it has peptides and it’s plumping.

I’m close to rounding up my thoughts on the new launches by African Botanics. The Svelte Cream is a product I never would have bought for myself. I’m not a big spending on luxury body products. It’s also a product I tried once and was extremely impressed. It instantly firms your skin in one use. It’s insane. It’s got a thick texture that nourishes and plumps without being greasy. It’s easily one of the most impressive firming body creams I’ve tried, also the most expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for. I finally caved and grabbed some Ere Perez items. I’ve always been curious about the brand. The Vanilla Highlighter in Falling Star is a nice huge pot of a shimmering glossy champagne highlighter. It has a faint vanilla scent which I love and a glossy sheen. It’s not too emollient and glossy but it’s definitely a more glossy and dewy style highlighter. It won’t set down or anything.

I finally got the chance to try NIOD Photography Fluid which I’ve always been curious about. I got the 8 and 12% versions but I’m in love with the 8%. The 12% has a more vanilla golden hue while this 8% is a bronzy sheer shade that gives a fabulous faint and natural sheen while also giving a nice tanned or bronzy glow effect to the skin. You can mix this in foundation or add a drop or two alone before foundation for a base. You can also add it on top of your foundation. There are multiple ways to use it. If you like Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi you’ll love this as well. It’s got a slightly more fluid texture and neutral tone.
