Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

I always plan these posts a week in advance so these are actually the things I was crushing on the week prior. I say that as you all know I had some skin issues last week which will be coming up in next weeks post. I rediscovered my DCL C-Scape High Potency Night Booster 30 luckily just in time to finish it off. This is a super potent ascorbic acid night treatment. It has 30% ascorbic acid actually. It has crystals that break on the skin when you rub it on. I know that sounds weird but I discovered it on Caroline Hirons years back and she describes it that way as well. It really does describe the feeling well. This brightens, reduces dark spots and increases collagen production. It’s a once a week treatment and do not use it on open skin, trust me you will hate it. Review HERE. I’ve almost polished off my Sisley Nutritive Handcare which makes me super sad. This luxury hand cream is light yet oh so nourishing, while having a luxe creamy texture that’s not too greasy. What’s not to love? This one has a light scent and is now discontinued but I linked the newer version I need to try myself.

I’ve been using the Neocutis Lumiere Eye Cream for quite a while now. I’ve always heard good things about it and I quite love their Bio Serum. This eye cream has a glossy light texture that’s just enough for me but not too much. It has growth factors that repair & revitalize. I find this one great at plumping, firming plus it reduces fine lines & wrinkles. More to come soon once I finish my bottle. My newest eye product is the OUMERE The Eye Serum. I love the uniqueness of the brand. Its packaging is fun and one of a kind, not necessarily the most practical but I like it. This water light serum sinks in quickly while also adding a really nice hydrating layer. I love it under the Neocutis eye cream. This serum has ingredients to reduce under eye dark circles (suma, bladderwrack, pea, arbutin, licorice), elastin protein (elastic synthesis), soy peptides & oxidoreductase (puffiness and age spots) plus my favorite ingredient ursolic acid (increase collagen and ceramide production, inhibits photoaging). More to come, I need more time with it but it’s promising so far.

I love Westman Atelier and I’ve been obsessed with them since they launched. I thought I wasn’t going to like the new Super Loaded Tinted Highlight in Peau de Rose due to the micro glitter. It makes a nice creamy highlight that actually works on me. It matches my skin tone pretty closely so it’s not a highlighter in the traditional sense but it does add a nice shimmering dewy sheen. This is perfect for spring. The micro glitter does not show up on the skin which is what makes this work great for me. The pink is not too cool or blue which is also helpful for my tone. I’ll be making my second Westman Atelier post soon going over the new items I have. Ormonde Jayne is one of my all time favorite perfumers. The niche British brand is one of my all time favorites. This week I’m reaching for Jardin D’Ange a Fortnum & Mason exclusive that sometimes pops up in a special set to the US. Top: Bergamot, Rosewood, Ylang-ylang. Heart: Rose, Violet, Iris. Base: Musk, Amber, Madagascan vanilla, Coumarin. It’s not my all time favorite Ormonde Jayne scent as it’s a little feminine and floral but I like it. It’s not a powdery white floral like many. Their creations tend to be high quality and well done.

I have been trying to test all the new sunscreens I bought for the yearly sunscreen round up post. Bioderma Photoderm Aquafluide ended up being my favorite of the two Bioderma ones I tried. Lait was too rich for me. This one is light and fluid in texture, with no white cast. It’s fragrance and alcohol free plus it’s not drying which I like. This is a chemical sunscreen. I don’t think it’s as oil controlling as it says but it’s a nice light fluid that’s not that super drying alcohol containing type. Heliocare Mineral Tolerance Fluid has been a nice mineral sunscreen I’ve tested this year. It’s super lightweight and fluid in texture. It has a light tint plus is fragrance and alcohol free. It’s a mineral SPF 50 so yes it has a hint of a white cast but it disappears quickly. On my light medium to medium skin tone. Darker skin tones may want to test this first. It’s not a drying mineral sunscreen which I like. It’s a bit hydrating actually plus it has some antioxidants which is nice. More to come in the annual sunscreen post.
