Long time no post. A few busy weeks at work and home always come first. This week I most definitely was into the new Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm. This has the most light delicious scent, like papaya. It has a really smooth sorbet texture. I dislike most sorbet textured balms but this one is really nice texture wise. It has a slight enzymatic action from the papaya enzymes. This does emulsify and leaves my skin soft and hydrated. It mostly rinses clean (I think all oil based cleansing balms leave a little film, I don't mind as it keeps my skin from drying out and my second cleanse removes it anyway). I definitely rediscovered my love for NIOD MMHC This month. It resolidified it's position as my favorite hydrating serum. Lightweight, never sticky and has a unique formulation as NIOD tends to do. It's pricier than some yes but honestly the texture is really fabulous. More in the review HERE.
These last few weeks I've been playing with a few new exfoliating masks that are different from my usual acid masks. VOTARY launched a BHA in oil mask and it's amazing. The Super Glow Mask has BHA or salicylic acid which is great at declogging pores. I love how it's in an oil base as BHA can be drying. This one is far from drying and it makes it feel gentle. The oils smell light and heavenly like the peach, watermelon, hazelnut, passion flower & neroli oils. It has a thicker oil texture and honestly this was unique, interesting & quite divine. Jan Marini Skin Zyme Mask is a gentle exfoliating mask that uses papaya enzymes. Enzymes are great as they work to remove dead skin cells without harming the skin. This one has a nice thick gel cream texture and I find it effective yet gentle. I see us being long term friends.
This last week with the near hurricane scare had me thinking of spicy sea scents and I found myself reaching for Hermes Hermessence Epice Marine for a while. I love a rich, almost dry spicy sea scent. Sea scents are my favorite. The notes are cumin, hazelnut, sesame, cinnamon, cardamom, bergamot, sea notes, whiskey, vetiver & oakmoss. If you love a deep sea scent, try it out. I've been using the Wayne Goss The Luxury Eye Palette in The Imperial Topaz top middle shade 02 all week. I'm obsessed with the neutral yet slightly warm satin bronze brown. It's mid-tone, neutral enough yet has a hint of warmth. It's got the perfect amount of shimmer too. This is my favorite type of brown shade. Review HERE. I finally grabbed a few ISDIN sunscreens. I grabbed the mineral and the Fotoprotector Pediatrics Fusion Water Wet Skin which I tested first. This is pretty much the same inci wise as the adult version in the blue bottle minus fragrance. You know I'll always go for fragrance free in sunscreen if I can. This one is alcohol free and a chemical sunscreen. Supposedly you can use it on wet skin and it's touted not to sting the eyes. I would say that's true, no eye stinging for me. I did not try it on wet skin as I have no need to try it that way. It's a light emulsion that I don't find either really hydrating nor drying. It's leaves a satin finish on the skin, it never greasy and doesn't pill. No white cast either. It's not sold in the US but I linked the site I got it from above. I need tp explore more of them next year.
I took this photo two weeks ago when I just got the OUAI x BYREDO Super Dry Shampoo Mojave Ghost and I was totally into it at first. I've talked about this before but I'm not a big OUAI fan due to their normally powerful & overwhelming for me perfume scents. I love this BYREDO scent as I own it so I was curious. It's definitely lighter than their other scents but the more I use it the more it seems way stronger still than my other dry shampoos. I had sinus surgery over ten years ago and I'm just really sensitive to strong perfume scents, it's just one of those things that gives me a headache when I use them too much. I'm sure many will love this and be able to use, it's really more of a personal preference. The actual product itself does leave a white cast but it brushes out easy. It adds good volume and isn't too drying. Overall I probably wouldn't buy it again unless they maybe did Rodeo or Gypsy Water as I really adore those two scents. Mojave Ghost while I own it, is not my favorite BYREDO scent.
