Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

I feel like I've been on a palette and cleanser craze the last month. The new SUQQU Powder Blush Palette from the AW 2020 Collection is utterly divine. It has four blush shades: a nude plum, rusty warm nude, bright pink & coral. The two highlighters are a light pink and cool champagne. I love their blush formula, it's pigmented, buildable and not powdery. It looks natural and soft on the skin. The highlighter shades are very pigmented and pretty intense. They're shimmery but not glittery at all which I love. The champagne shade is my favorite and it makes a great brow highlight as well. The new ELEMIS Superfood AHA Glow Cleansing Butter is easily my favorite product I've ever tried by the brand. It has such a lush creamy texture. This is like a cleansing balm meets creamy butter. It's more a hybrid, not a true balm not a cleansing cream. It has mango butter, fermented pumpkin, acerola cherry & rice water. It does remove makeup and emulsifies. It's very versatile and be used as every step (morning or both parts of a double cleanse), and it can be a quick wash off mask as well. This one has no fragrance or essential oils.

Lately I've definitely been into enzymatic products. The YOU Skincare Congestion Clearing Enzyme Mask has most definitely been growing on me. It has a creamy gel texture made with aloe, turmeric, licorice, bacillus ferment, panthenol, astaxanthin, rice bran & perilla oils and rice bran wax. The wax beads work as gentle exfoliation while the gel gently exfoliates with enzymes from the bacillus ferment. I normally don't like physical exfoliation but this one is fine for me, it's really gentle. What I like about this is that it's a two minute mask. Apply, then massage after two minutes and rinse. It really manages to gently remove that top layer, leaving my face soft and super smooth. Byredo Sellier has probably become one of my favorite scents they make. Ever. It's a sexy leather yet day appropriate. Not too smoky, nor too dry. It has a hint of a sweet edge to round it out. This is like the sexy deeper version of Rodeo. Top: Cashmeran, Black Tea. Heart: Leather Accord, Tobacco Leaves. Base: Birch Tree, Oakmoss. Yes, it's very expensive but it really has climbed the list and become one of my all time favorites.

I recently got back into Renee Rouleau and grabbed the Moisture Protecting Cleanser. This is a gentle low pH (5.5) gel cleanser. It has a thicker gel texture and I love how non-drying it is. She lists it as a gel to milk texture. It's really just that new generation gel cleanser type that turns white when you massage on dry skin. I've applied it both on wet or dry skin, it works on either and gently foams. It's fragrance free and has allantoin, glycerin, aloe, sweet almond oil and apricot fruit extract. I think this will become a long time favorite. It's suitable for daily use & all skin types. Natasha Denona launched some new duo-chrome liquid eyeshadows. Chromium Multichrome Liquid Eyeshadow is most definitely cool. Infra Nude has a nude to burgundy to green gold shift. You can use it alone or layer over another shade. I like it over a creamy brown shade to make it pop. You can pat a little on the lid for a hint of effect or apply more. It doesn't crease and lasts all day once it sets.

The last week I've mostly been switching back and forth between two creams. Both are medium weight and good for summer nights. Biologique Recherche Creme Biofixine has earned a place in my favorites. I actually talked about it earlier this week HERE. This is a great all around anti-aging cream that firms, plumps and helps reduce wrinkles/fine lines. A pricey cream but if you love the brand you might like it. As I said last time I think a more mature skin will appreciate it more. Sisley may be hit or miss but the Velvet Sleeping Mask is a hit if you like their sleeping masks. I use their Black Rose and this as night creams which is what they are essentially. The Velvet Sleeping Mask is lighter than Black Rose. It's still thick and lasts all night like an overnight mask (cream) but I use it more in the summer and Black Rose in the winter. This mask has a light almost sweet scent (nothing gourmand), some Sisley can really kill me with fragrance but this one is actually really pleasant. It's a soothing calming mask overall with saffron flower, tyme honey, shea & kokum butter, macadamia & cottonseed oils, Japanese lilyturf, brown algae, panthenol & plant based glycerin. Definitely one of the better Sisley purchases I made last year.
