Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

Long time since I have done one of these posts I’m sorry. This has a couple new things and some things I’ve been into for a few weeks now. The new Good Molecules Rosewater Daily Cleansing Gel is so good. It has a light airy gel texture that’s a little bouncy. It’s gentle, has a low pH (5.5) and is non-drying. IT can easily be used daily with no irritation. The scent is very light, like an aloe with a hint of rosewater. Very faint on the rose I almost wouldn’t have noticed it if it wasn’t on the bottle. Best of all it’s only $12 total bargain find for a cleanser. Probably the best cheap one in that price range I’ve seen. I have had a wicked sinus infection all week so I skipped lipstick and just used up my Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Balm. This tube is the Libra sign one. Hands down one of my all time favorite lip balm formulas ever. Their sugar line is superb. Light sweet taste, low scent, hydrating, glossy with some oils yet sticks around long enough unlike traditional lip oils. It just has a light smooth oil balm texture that really good.

Y’all know how much I love Sam McKnight. His products are really spectacular. Cool Girl is the best texture spray. It’s a salt free texture spray for texture and beachy waves. It has a light spray mechanism that allows for building coverage. It doesn’t overdo it fast like others. Not saying that you can’t overdo it as you can, but overall it’s pretty natural looking/feeling. I’m about to open my third one. Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in Blonde has probably become my favorite tinted brow gel ever. I just reordered another which is probably number five easy. It’s quite good. It has enough hold, it’s soft yet lasts, it doesn’t flake or feel stiff/hard. It’s worthy of holy grail status for me. I use it over my Surratt Brow Pencil and together they work wonders. I like how natural it look and feels yet it has a nice extra hold and a hint of color. If I had full brows instead of my measly patchy ones this might do it alone for me without a pencil but alas I have thinning brows so I need both.

I bought two new creams for my birthday a few weeks back. Zelens Stem Complex was a cream I tried a few years back in the height of my Zelens love phase. It was too rich for me at the time and now that I’m drier I thought it the perfect time to revisit the idea of testing it again. I know Caroline Hirons loves it. This cream has such a divinely lush glossy texture. It’s just so nice to touch. I love revisiting things now that my skin is drier. It totally changes my outlook on them. I used to think this was too rich but now it’s actually really nice. I can see for impacts from this now versus before. I’ve come to realize that you can see changes better on more mature skin than younger skin. Even with the same product from five years ago. Read my review HERE. I plan on re-reviewing it someone soon. For now I enjoy it’s lush, hydrating, glossy, plumping qualities. Decree Peptide Emollient Veil is new for me. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and finally caved. I love the packaging very sleek and chic. This is a medium weight moisturizer with a glossy bouncy texture. It’s more hydrating that Allies of Skin (both day creams) if you’re thinking that in your head from the packaging. It will be a nice fall into spring moisturizer for days and I know some who use it at night. It’s simple, has antioxidants & peptides with a great texture plus it’s great at plumping. What else could you want?

Byredo is still one of my favorite fragrance houses. Oliver Peoples was my first scent I purchased. It was limited edition sadly and I love it’s light woody notes with a hint of sea and citrus. The heart highlights iris and patchouli, while the base provides depth and warmth to aromas of sand, musk and immortelle. Notes: Top notes: juniper berries, California lemon; Middle notes: orris butter, patchouli fraction; Base notes: musk, warm sand accord, helichrysum. African Botanics reformulated their Baobab Clay Oxygenating Cleanser and now it has the most amazing gel texture. It’s a thicker gel and it used to be runnier. What I’ve been loving this for is as my detox or purifying cleanser for the summer. I actually got rid of all my others and kept just this one because it’s good enough to be just that one. Make sure you look for the new packaging like I have. I love that this does detox and clean well but it’s not drying like some purifying cleansers are. It’s good at just really getting the grime off my face. It these Houston humid hot summer nights it was a lifesaver. It has this really unique light scent I like. It’s hard to describe, herbal yet fresh. It has jasmice, orange & sandalwood. Naturallogic Elemental Advanced Hydration Red Wine Essence has been really back full swing in my life. I pulled it out to replay with it for the October Boxwalla box and remember just how damn good it is. Red wine, niacinamide, panthenol, hyaluronic acid & red algae. Really nice hydrating essence that’s unique. I love the smaller size so I feel accomplished finishing it off this week.
