Davines This is a Sea Salt Spray: Review

I am a huge lover of salt sprays or texturizing sprays. I've talked about them here and here. I finally decided to try Davines This is a Sea Salt Spray. I'm glad I did. The retail is $27 for 250 ml.

Per Davines website:

Styling spray made of sea salt that gives the hair fullness and body with a matte finish.
Benefits include:

  • texture
  • extreme volume
  • light control
  • dry effect - tousled and beach-like waves
  • body while minimizing the electrostatic effect
HOW TO USE:

Spray to wet hair before styling to give body or to dry hair to increase the volume and the mat effect. Depending on hair density, length and desired effect, apply between 3g and 5g of product.

NATURAL ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

A synergy of different ingredients with a high moisturizing power that facilitates the deposit of water molecules on the hair shaft. The gradual release of these ingredients enhances product performance and keeps hair healthy and moisturized longer. The formulas have been created to give hair body, texture and well-defined shape without the addition of resins.

I had to grab the ingredients off of Birchbox: Water, Magnesium Sulfate, Propanediol, Sodium Chloride, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Sea Salt, Methylisothiazolinone.
I love this spray. This is what I wished Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray would have been. It doesn't have any oils in it, so there's no chance of overdoing it and getting greasy. Unlike the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray this doesn't dry my hair out. It creates great volume and texture with no dryness, nor sticky or crunchy feel. My hair feels soft, is voluminous and has beachy waves. I sometimes mix this with a salt spray that has oils to get some moisture. I don't mix them, I spray one then the other. This gives an extra boost to any salt spray that has oils. It's definitely one of the more volume creating salt sprays. On a side note Davines listed the usage as spraying 3-5g or product. How am I supposed to know how much that is? Strange.
