Drunk Elephant Shaba & C-Tango

I’ve been wanting to write about the Drunk Elephant eye creams for what feels like ages but for some reason it kept getting put off. So time to talk about these two beauties. First off Shaba Complex Eye Serum. I tried this when it first came out in the slim pen like applicator (which I actually liked) though this new packaging fits in well with the lines aesthetics in general. Details per Drunk Elephant:

A satiny eye serum formulated with a powerhouse of ingredients to tackle the major signs of aging under and around the eyes such as fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage. The result is a rested, more youthful appearance.

The Shaba Complex™ Eye Serum contains potent doses of black tea ferment and copper peptides that work together to support a smoother, younger appearance around the eyes, helping to slow down the signs of aging before they appear. With a unique combination of edelweiss stem cells and niacinamide, Shaba Complex™ helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The powerful antioxidants in Co-Q10 help prevent premature signs of aging from environmental aggressors, while also helping to fade age spots.

Directions Apply under the eye, around the orbital bone and on the eyelid each morning and night for a refreshing boost to the eye area. May be mixed with C-Tango™ Multivitamin Eye Cream.

Tip: Leave Shaba Complex™ in the fridge for a cooling, soothing treatment.

Top Shaba, Bottom C-Tango:

Shaba Complex has a light creamy eye serum texture. It has black tea ferment, copper peptides, niacinimide, edelweiss stem cells, Co-Q10 & the Shaba Complex. I love black tea ferment. I find it firming. Copper tri-peptide is always a favorite as well. It has wrinkle reducing benefits long term. This also has low molecular weight hyaluronic acid which is great for penetrating the skin well. Shaba has a lot of nice antioxidants along with multitasking hero niacinimide. It has a nice firming, hydrating and refreshing feeling on the eye area. It does perk up the eye area but it’s not a powerhouse on the dark circle/wrinkles area like C-Tango.

C-Tango is my favorite of the two. It has a thicker cream texture and is very hydrating. Not oily or greasy just hydrating. This one has five forms of vitamin C with eight peptides to firm, reduce wrinkles, plump, hydrate and brighten the eye area. Think of it as Protini and C-Firma has a baby and it was perfect for the eye area. It’s also got cucumber, ceramides, antioxidants, aloe, C0-Q10, vitamin E, superoxide dismutase & acmella extract (buzz button which is like a natural wrinkle reducing extract).

This cream reduces wrinkles and fine lines, hydrates & plumps plus manages to brighten the eye area noticeably. It actually helps with dark circles for me a touch and not many eye creams do. For $64 this one is a steal. Seriously it’s one of the best eye creams for the price results wise. I think of it as my cheap eye cream favorite. I know it may not be cheap to many but compared to some of the $200 alternatives that have been my favorites in the past I’m happy to make the switch.

Both of these come in airless pumps which is perfect. I always love the cute Drunk Elephant twist top packaging. These each have their own purpose and you can use them separately. I personally love an eye serum under an eye cream as my eyes are so dry. So these two are easily layerable together. You could use Shaba as a day cream and C-Tango as a night cream. Shaba is not enough on its own for me anymore. If I had to only pick one it would be C-Tango as the results are phenomenal. I put C-Tango in my hero products hall of fame. It deserves to be there.
