Drunk Elephant Skincare Serums

Not only is the name fun but the products are great. They're free of parabens, sulfates, alcohol. They don't have many products yet but the two I have tried are great.

I got the first one T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum from my first BeautyDNA box. It comes as a 30 mL pump. I had just bought a Renee Rouleau 10% AHA serum the week before getting this, so I've kind of been comparing the two. The Drunk Elephant has more ingredients I like both at 10% AHA so I tend to like the Drunk Elephant more. The key ingredients are: 10% AHA blend(glycolic, lactic, citric and salicylic acid blend), horse chestnut, raspberry extract, cactus enzyme. The Drunk Elephant doesn't irritate my skin at all, where the Renee Rouleau can sometimes. AHA exfoliates your skin chemically. AHA is best for sun damaged, wrinkles, dry skin as an anti-aging exfoliant. It improves moisture content. Check out the website for ingredients Here. Retail is $90 so for the $25 I paid for the BeautyDNA box is was worth it. Oddly, when you go to the website it says 12% glycolic acid vs the 10% on the back of the bottle. They might have just reformulated maybe? Overall doesn't sting my skin, no irritation, no redness, and exfoliates gently enough you could use it daily. I tend to take a day off after 3 days on on average. I use it only at night. I will re purchase this when it's gone. This has a clear gel texture.

Next I bought the C-Firma Day Serum which is also 30 mL for $80. If you get it off Dermstore or B-Glowing like I did for 20% off it's cheaper. It's similar to Skinceuticals CE Ferulic as they both have 15% ascorbic acid and 5% ferulic acid. They both have an oily texture that binds to your skin after application and doesn't wash off for 72 hours. Drunk Elephant has pumpkin enzyme which I love so that sold me on this, plus it was cheaper than the Skinceuticals. It's an orange liquid. I have no issues with irritation or breakouts with it. Check it out on their website Here. The active ingredients are: 15% L-Ascorbic acid, hyaluronate crosspolymer, 5% ferulic acid, pumpkin ferment extract and chronocyclin. I use this every morning and will re purchase.

On the top is the C-Firma Day Serum, the bottom is the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum:

Overall, I love both. I do hate the bottle they come in. They're large and don't fit well in my cabinet. The caps come off easy. The pumps also squirt out more than I need sometimes I wish the pump motion was more fluid. If you need part of a second pump but not a full pump it's hard to get that. The C-Firma spurts out at you and can be messy because of the pump. If the pump was more fluid and less jerky that would be a great improvement. This was a good discovery started by BeautyDNA. Their sunscreen is one I want to try one day.
