February Boxwalla Subscription Box x Siam Seas

Boxwalla is hands down my favorite subscription box. This subscription box brings you the best in green beauty bi-monthly. The February box is a collaboration with Siam Seas. The theme of this box is 'Frangipani Fables and Black Rice Tales'. Siam Seas was created by Supadra Geronimoa a Thailand native. It's a very unique brand that combines traditional Thai medicine, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I love the YEN Hydrate and Heal and Hydrate Toner as it's phenomenal. The February Boxwalla box has two new launches for the Siam Seas brand. The packaging is also truly superb as well. It's so ornate and detailed. Very unique.

Kwam Rak Body Serum is simply divine. An oil meets lotion for a light texture yet superb hydration.

Kwam Rak (meaning love in Thai) is a category-defying product that fits in the space between a lotion and an oil, being neither but performing the function of both, with incredible botanicals like green tea, turmeric, ashwagandha along with plant derived ceramides. A true serum made in a base of aloe juice as well aloe inner fillet gel, it is light & creamy & instantly absorbs into the skin and hydrates while also providing deep and lasting nourishment like a rich body oil, balm or cream would.

This is a really unique product not only just from the ingredients but the scent combined with the texture. It's housed in a black glass pump bottle (perfection). The texture is a thin emulsion and it has a creamy light yellow color. This feels like a lightweight lotion going on the skin but hydrates like an oil. I tend to mix an oil with a lotion or cream and this manages to do that for me without the extra step. I'm completely obsessed with it. The scent has a warm spicy earthy edge (hello mustard seed) mixed with sweet florals (frangipani & jasmine sambac). I need a large vat pronto. The best part is the hydration level combined with the extremely light texture. It's really quite good. Plus I'm addicted to the scent.

Sai Clearing Serum

Sai (meaning clear in Thai) is another genre-bending multitasking product that is a serum but with also the hydrating barrier protective properties of a cream. It is composed in a base of black rice water, with the synergistic combination of ancient plants & herbs like king of bitters, milk thistle, mangosteen, gypsum, kala jeera, ashwagandha, sompoi, neem with modern actives & extracts like vitamin c ester, ceramides & MSM. What results is an extraordinary barrier protecting vitamin C serum that clears the skin, forms a protective barrier against environmental stressors, reduces scarring, brightens the skin & evens the skin texture, calms inflammation & helps with skin conditions that include, active acne, eczema, rosacea and psoriasis. Excellent for all skin types.

This is such a unique little serum. It has so many functions-Barrier protection, clarifying, antioxidant & calming. This has a thicker texture with a reddish brown orange color. It has a grainy texture which is a bit odd at first. This serum works best layered over a hydrating mist. So use 1-2 drops after applying a mist. I tried it both ways and trust me, it's thick so use it over a mist. It will glide across wet skin. It doesn't work so well applying over drier skin. I apply this right towards the end of my routine right before oils.

This serum takes a while to get used to. It feels super potent on application kind of like a good vitamin c serum does. After you apply let this set or dry down for a few and you'll feel this hydrating protective layer over the skin. It also brightens, calms and clarifies the skin. I don't have acne but I have heard this helps others with their blemishes. It's really a multi-purpose serum that I think will behave differently on different skin types. I think it's going to give a benefit to everyone. It’s only first stage testing for me.

The grainy texture is odd and I didn't understand it at first. The white granules sat on the skin and I ended up brushing them off once the serum set down a bit. I couldn't figure out what the granules were for as it's not an exfoliating product. Turns out the grit is from gypsum granules which are supposed to disappear on the skin after applying and setting. The batch we all tested had gypsum that separated out causing the extra gritty feel which was abnormal for the serum. So for you guys the serum will have a slightly gritty texture but it should dissipate once applied to the skin. I'm supposed to get a new one soon and I'll update you on the difference.

As always I love the card insert that comes with the monthly box because it has a wealth of information:

This box has a value of $155 all for $49.95. You can subscribe HERE until February 1st.
