Glow Recipe Pink Juice

I love Glow Recipe (They curate & sell K Beauty products online). They're finally making their own products and the Watermelon Sleeping Mask is one of my favorites. I was so excited to see them make a new watermelon moisturizer called Pink Juice. Details per Glow Recipe:

90% of this silky moisturizer is derived from antioxidant-packed watermelon to flood skin with weightless hydration and instant radiance. The oil-free formula won’t clog pores, making it the perfect go-to for oily to combination skin.

Spiked with vitamin- and amino acid-rich watermelon extract, plumping hyaluronic acid, and soothing botanicals like peony and jasmine extracts, this cooling gel-emulsion absorbs instantly to seal in hydration and prep skin for the day ahead. Antioxidants guard against free radicals and repair damaged cells along the way. Used morning and night, it drenches skin in luscious, long-lasting moisture.

First I must say this comes in the most delicious twisted glass bottle. It has a pump dispenser as well which I love. Pink Juice has the same light watermelon Jolly Rancher scent as the sleeping mask. This has a thicker slippery gel serum texture. It's way too light to be a moisturizer for me. Unless you have oily skin this is probably more of a hydrating serum for you. This has more hydration than a serum but less than a lotion. I love using this as a hydrating layering skin care item. I use this after all my other serums but before oils and cream or lotion.

This does hydrate pretty well. It gives a lush plump feel to my skin. Watermelon fruit has been a tradition in Asian communities for soothing the skin especially after sun exposure. Pink Juice has watermelon fruit and extract as the main two ingredients. Watermelon is rich in antioxidants such as lycopene, amino acids & vitamins A, B6 & C. It's soothing to the skin and helps with redness post sun exposure. Most fruit has some level of natural alphahydroxy acids (AHA) like glycolic and lactic acids. It's hard to find how much AHA watermelon has in any kind of research online. It feels minimal as this doesn't feel like any kind of normal AHA product on my skin. Glycolic and lactic acid in lower concentrations (as most likely the case with this product) are typically more hydrating than exfoliating.

Pink Juice also contains sodium hyaluronate (a better penetrating derivative of hyaluronic acid), jasmine & peony extracts, soy protein (soothing), glycerin, glutamic acid (has water binding properties) & beta-glucan (soothing and hydrating). It’s very hydrating without being heavy at all. I have not experienced any breakouts or adverse effects while using. I love that Pink Juice gives intense hydration while remaining light in texture. I'm an avid fan of watermelon so I kind of like smearing it all over my face in addition to just eating it (and putting it in killer summer margaritas). I like having the option of the sleeping mask versus this now for a hydrating watermelon boost.
