Good Molecules

Earlier this year Good Molecules launched on Beautylish. An affordable skincare line where a majority of products are under $10. I’ve definitely seen an influx of more affordable lines focused on targeted ingredient formulations and I always have to see how the budget ones fair compared to my love for luxury skincare. I grabbed four items to start and they’ve actually launched more that I may check out in the future. I had to try their AHA/BHA acid serum the Overnight Exfoliating Treatment. This serum costs $6 so that’s a phenomenal start. Details per Beautylish:

Wake up to a smoother, clearer complexion with Overnight Exfoliating Treatment from Good Molecules. This blend of 10% alpha and beta hydroxy acids helps to resurface and renew, smoothing away dead skin cells and unclogging pores to reveal visibly radiant skin.

  • Diminish the visible signs of aging with smooth and brighter skin caused by glycolic acid and lactic acid that exfoliate the skin’s surface.
  • Reduce breakouts and blemishes as salicylic acid penetrates deep into pores to dissolve clogs.

Ingredients

Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycolic Acid (8.05%), Sodium Citrate, Glycerin, Propanediol, Lactic Acid (1.035%), Alcohol Denat., Sodium Acrylate/Sodium, Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Xanthan Gum, Chlorphenesin, Polysorbate 80, Alcohol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Salicylic Acid (0.1%), Sorbitan Oleate, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil

This serum has a light serum gel texture. Due to the citrus oils it has a light citrus scent. This acid serum has a 10% AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid)/BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) blend. Remember AHAs exfoliate the skin helping stimulate cellular turnover, even the skintone, they also add moisture to the skin and promote collagen production. All of which help with anti-aging and give you that glow. BHAs help unclog pores keeping skin clear and are anti-inflammatory. Glycolic acid is the main AHA in this serum. Glycolic is the smallest molecule of the AHA family, it’s also the most effective and strongest. However it does come with the harshest side effects such as stinging and irritation (Not everyone experiences side effects to glycolic).

This is a fairly strong percentage of AHAs. They did add in a small amount of lactic acid which is a little more gentle then glycolic to round it out. I do love a rounded acid blend versus only a single. This one does give a good tingle at first but it went away after a week for me. If you’re sensitive make sure you start out slow and go with 2x a week or so and see how it goes. This does have alcohol in it but it wasn’t bothersome to me. For $6 it’s totally a must try if you like acid serums.

Wake Up Eye Serum is your energizing/de-puffing caffeine eye serum. Details per Beautylish:

Revitalize your eyes with this serum from Good Molecules. Wake Up Eye Serum brightens, firms, and reduces puffiness around your eyes with caffeine and pumpkin extract for a noticeably more energized appearance.

  • Caffeine has an instant tightening effect, visibly improving the look of puffiness and under-eye bags
  • Pumpkin extract is a natural source of vitamins C and E and beta-carotene, which brighten and stimulate collagen production
  • The lightweight, water-based formula layers seamlessly under skincare and makeup, making it ideal for daily use

Ingredients

Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Methyl Gluceth-20, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Caffeine, Benzophenone-5, Disodium EDTA, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Fruit Extract, Dextrin

This eye serum has a light gel serum texture. It’s got ingredients that help de-puff the eye area like caffeine & Japanese Goldthread. Cocoa seed extract is high in antioxidants & it’s anti-inflammatory. Pumpkin fruit extract is mildly exfoliating so it boosts cellular turnover. I love that this is $8 and it’s double the size of a normal eye serum. It just didn’t do that much for me.

Their Hyaluronic Acid Serum is phenomenal. Details per Beautylish:

Replenish your skin’s moisture content with Hyaluronic Acid Serum from Good Molecules. Formulated with hyaluronic acid, this water-light serum draws moisture to the skin for long-lasting hydration. With just one use, skin appears smooth, supple, and well-hydrated.

  • Hyaluronic acid binds to moisture and draws it into the skin to maintain a healthy moisture balance and protect from dehydration
  • The lightweight, water-based formula layers seamlessly under skincare and makeup, making it ideal for daily use

Ingredients

Water/Aqua/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Chlorphenesin, Xanthan Gum, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA

I love how lightweight this hyaluronic serum is. It’s not sticky or heavy. It’s simple and fragrance free. Sometimes there’s not much more you need to explain about a hydrating serum than that. It’s $6 did I mention that? For the price this is one of the best textured hyaluronic acid serums there is. You should try it as you can’t loose.

I had to try Super Peptide Serum as I love peptides in my daily routine. Details per Beautylish:

Target multiple signs of aging at once with Super Peptide Serum from Good Molecules. This specially formulated blend of peptides and copper tripeptides helps to hydrate, brighten, and smooth for a healthy, youthful-looking glow.

  • Smooth, plump and firm skin with copper tripeptides that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions with peptides including Acetyl hexapeptide-8 and acetyl octapeptide-3

Ingredients

Water/Aqua/Eau, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Acetyl Octapeptide-3, Copper Tripeptide-1, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Glycereth-25 PCA Isostearate, Polyacrylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Thromethamine, Polyisobutene, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Hyaluronate, BHT, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycine

This serum has a nice lightweight hydrating texture. It’s got Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (argireline) which has water binding capabilities. Acetyl Octapeptide-3 (SNAP-8) helps improve signs of aging formed by repetitive facial expressions. Copper Tripeptide-1 (three amino acids with copper) can help promote wound healing, stimulate collagen, elastin & glycosaminoglycan production. This serum should help with firmness and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It’s virtually fragrance free minus the bergamot oil. I found it hydrating and firming. For $12 I think it’s an excellent choice of a peptide product to try. Can’t go wrong.

Overall I loved the frosted glass bottles, really excellent price points and great textures. I love it when an affordable skincare line has great textures (as that’s not always true). I’m sure I’ll try out more some day from the line and my favorites from this group is the Super Peptide Serum & Hyaluronic Acid Serum.
