Lovinah: Part 2

Time to talk about another round of Lovinah products. I first discussed them HERE. I have a few new products from the line to talk about. First up is the new reformulation of the Dragon’s Blood Bioactive Mask. I talked about the original in the first post. Now it’s smoother with no encapsulated retinol. Details per Lovinah:

Rejuvenate your skin, and achieve a clearer, healthier complexion with the help of Dragon’s Blood Bioactive Mask. This powerful exfoliating mask is formulated with Dragon’s Blood, a tree sap praised for its protective and healing properties. It acts as a shield and forms a protective barrier. By locking in the moisture, it helps in preventing and diminishing the signs of premature aging.

Dragon’s Blood has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties and although suitable for all skin types, it’s particularly recommended for sensitive skin, because of its soothing nature. This centuries-old extract acts as a barrier preventing the main cause of acne – bacteria – to penetrate into your pores and cause breakouts. Due to its healing properties it helps to repair the skin structure and visibly treat stubborn acne scarring.

Dragon’s Blood Bioactive Mask is your one-step solution to healthier, younger-looking skin. It provides gentle exfoliation and unclogs the pores, increases blood circulation and promotes cell turnover. Its unique formula with powerful botanicals, herb and fruit enzymes and Rooibos tea contains all the nutrients your skin needs.

Benefits:

  • Unclog pores, draws out impurities and toxins out of the skin
  • Gentle exfoliate the skin to promote increased cell turnover

This mask has a thick creamy texture and it doesn’t dry down or dry out my face while using it. This is a kick your butt powerful detox mask. It causes me to flush a little because of the increased circulation. Dragon’s Blood is repairative, anti-inflammatory & antimicrobial. It’s also got fruit acids & willow bark for gentle exfoliation. Add in some probiotics, clay, turmeric and roobois tea for a power packed mask. You can really feel this one working. I love the new texture it was a big improvement. If you like a detox/enzyme/healing masks you’ll like this one. Really sensitive skin might be careful and try it out first. As always it comes in the luxe black glass Lovinah packaging.

This is a fluffy chocolate mask scrub for the body. It has shea butter, oils, Moroccan clay, cacao extract, bamboo extract & dead sea salt. It’s a very light exfoliating scrub. This is a decadent treat for the body. Sadly it’s sold out. It might have been limited edition.

Blue Lotus is the first oil I have tried from the brand. Details per Lovinah:

A next-generation bio-active repair oil to help soothe irritate skin and improve the appearance of damaged skin, while moisturizing and calming skin. Infused with powerful D’Orientine S, a patented, plant-derived active ingredient extracted from the date-palm kernel (Phoenix Dactylyfera) with clinically proven anti-wrinkle efficacy and free radical scavenging properties. Its unique complex of 7 natural compounds work synergistically to delay the visible signs of aging and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, which is a very stable, oil-soluble Vitamin C ester that has antioxidant activity to help with damaged skin without irritating it. Blue Lotus also contains gromwell extract used since ancient times to help with skin healing, blue tansy, german blue chamomile, blue cypress and blue yarrow pure oils, which possess calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Blue Lotus Oil will help balance to dry, dehydrated, damaged and irritate skin, to reveal a more even-toned complexion. High in azulene, this sacred beauty elixir has a calming and soothing aroma. It is formulated without: parabens, sulfates, phthalates and totally cruelty-free. This product is vegan, gluten-free, and hypoallergenic.

I love the bottle this comes in. The luxe black glass with the gold dropper is spot on. It’s heavy weight. The oil has a blue color you can see below. That’s from the blue tansy, blue yarrow, blue chamomile & blue cypress oils. Those four blue oils are all anti-inflammatory and soothing. It also has a vitamin C derivative for brightening, antioxidant protection & collagen building. The texture of this oil is really nice. It’s got a luxe medium weight feel. There’s just something about a high quality facial oil texture wise. You know what I mean if you’ve tried one. This also has unique oils like cacay (high in vitamin A), Abyssinian, amaranth & cape chestnut plus extracts like lupine seed extract (firming, anti-aging), balsam resin, alpha lipoic acid & gromwall root extract. If you want a soothing oil this is one to look at.

I finally grabbed the Divine Roobois Antioxidant Moisturizer. I had been wanting to grab it for a while. Details per Lovinah:

Powerful concoction that really works! Say Hello to glowing healthy skin . Made with USDA Certified Organic Shea Nilotica from East African, this rare natural shea butter contains skin-healing properties and unlike western shea butter which is often hard and waxy, raw, unrefined Nilotica from East African is creamy soft and easy to spread.

Nilotica shea butter contains a higher dosage of olein acid than western shea butter. Olein acid is a naturally occurring glyceride of oleic acid, which helps nilotica shea butter to be both softer and creamier in texture than western shea butter. Nilotica is one of the many beauty secrets of African women and is highly valued for it’s moisturizing properties. Divine is a very potent moisturizer with natural acids, enzyme, lightening licorice and potent kojic acid to help fade hyperpigmentation while infusing the skin with antioxidants and vitamins.

This has a large black glass package with a pump. The moisturizer has a medium weight to it and a pink color. It’s got antioxidant rich roobois, soothing rose, Nilotica shea butter (moisturizing, creamy), vitamin C (derivatives), pumpkin ferment, MSM (building block for collagen), allantoin (soothing), panthenol (B5, humectant), inulin (humectant), bilberry, tamarind (antioxidant) & hibiscus (increase moisture, natural AHA). This moisturizer has a light natural hint of rose scent. No fragrance or essential oils. It’s got a light to medium weight, non-greasy texture that I find best for mornings.

Cacao Lover Mask has been replaced with Chocolate Truffle. This mask is like brownie batter. It’s completely divine. I’d like to eat it. The texture and scent is pretty much just like a thick brownie batter. Cacao is a powerful antioxidant. The ingredient list isn’t up for this one anymore. Cacao is a powerful antioxidant, it’s anti-inflammatory, soothing and promotes blood flow to the skin. In addition to all those benefits it smells fantastic obviously. My favorites are the oil and the moisturizer. No surprise as that’s a few categories of skincare I love a lot. I’ve been so lazy about masking lately. Lovinah makes amazing masks if that’s what you’re into I suggest checking them out.

*Gifted by brand minus moisturizer. All thoughts are my own.
