MAC Huggable Lipstick Soft Talkin' & Bare Hug: Review & Swatches

I skipped MAC Huggable lipsticks the first time they came out, but with the recent coupon they had I decided to grab a few MAC things. I grabbed Soft Talkin' and Bare Hug. Per MAC's website: "A comforting, creamy formula in shades that stay luminous for up to six hours. This lasting lipstick with rich, glossy shine boosts collagen, leaving lips looking smooth, supple, sculpted. The unique gel base melts upon contact, allowing each shade to glide on effortlessly with a feather-light moisturizing finish." These retail for $20 for a 3.2g tube. These have a slim gunmetal metallic plastic case versus the traditional black bullet.

I find the formula lightweight, moisturizing, fairly long lasting, maybe not six hours, but not two like Lustres or other moisturizing formulas. It's got a thin feel, it's not thick, and it's not really cushy or baume like either. These can get a touch tacky when they start to wear off. Overall, I was really impressed with the formula. I wouldn't mind if it replaced the Lustre formula, as it's more moisturizing and lasts longer. The colors are semi sheer as well. At the least the ones I tried were. Smells like vanilla. I wish there was a bigger shade range I would get more. Their nudes really lack in this range. This is a limited edition product.

Bare Hug is described as a "creamy soft peach/orange." It's a semi sheer pinky coral with slight, very fine gold shimmer. I found Tom Ford Lip Shine in Frolic the closest in color. Tom Ford is actually a touch lighter on my lips than MAC Bare Hug which seems more coral on the lips. The base is a little creamy so that gives it some opacity.

Soft Talkin' is described as a "warm peachy nude." That's pretty close. It's a creamy peach nude with slight, very fine gold and white shimmer. It almost feels like it has a hint of pink in the tube and swatched, but on the lips it goes on more nude it looses that peachy tone some. This also looks darker in the tube and when swatched then on the lips where it's a light nude shade. It's a great nude shade, it doesn't wash me out at all. This was my favorite of the two by far. I really had no shades similar to swatch next to this. I had nude nudes that had no peach, or were more pinky nude shades.
