I've been playing with the new Marc Jacobs Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation for a few weeks thanks to Influenster. Details per Sephora:
Have it all with Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation. Inspired by Marc’s very own shameless attitude—and his tattoo—this innovative foundation lets your best self show all day long. It’s clinically tested for 24-hours of long-wear, and contains a first-to-market technology that encapsulates the SPF in pigment. This innovation makes the SPF visibly undetectable, so there’s no flashback in photos and no ashy, grey undertones in the formula.
This oil-free, weightless foundation provides buildable, medium coverage that blends seamlessly. The patented Infinity Milling™ process produces super-fine pigments that result in the most natural-looking, self-setting finish. The broad shade range was developed with artists and models worldwide to fit all skin tones and skin types. The perfect level of coverage allows for flexibility across the shade range—go deeper or lighter depending on your desired look.
Shameless liquid foundation also beautifies from the inside out with skincare benefits, including phenomenal hydration. It contains snow mushroom, which is known for its impressive ability to hold onto water—it’s like nature’s dupe for hyaluronic acid. The formula also contains blue daisy extract, known to visibly diminish the complexion-dulling effects of pollution. Together, they help your skin look hydrated, plumped, and more youthful. Go ahead, show off your skin shamelessly.
I love the sleek packaging. The plastic squeeze tube is slim and easy to use as well as portable. This is a medium coverage foundation that has a unique finish. It's dewy and hydrating yet sets itself without powder. It's got a satin like finish. I love that it manages to remain hydrating without being too greasy, shiny or dewy.
This foundation does require some finesse to get the best application and wear out of it. I tried this over multiple primers and found this works best over non-shiny and less dewy or hydrating primers. Shameless over primers like Charlotte Tilbury's new Flawless Filter was not a good combo. That made this way too dewy and hydrating. It caused the foundation to break down early in the day. This foundation does best over a satin to matte primer. I really liked it over the Fenty Beauty primer.
This foundation has the ability to be layered. The heavier you apply, the better chance it has of breaking down in the day to look more uneven. I found this could settle in the pores on my cheeks. It can get a little breakdown in the t-zone area after 8-12 hours. This is minimized or absent with the right primer and not overdoing it with the amount you apply. I ended up liking my fingers or a brush the most for applying this on the first pass or layer. A brush can buff it out my cheeks with a second layer. This method seemed to work well for me.
This wasn't one of the top foundations I've tried in the last year, but it's quite nice. I like that it doesn't need powder to set and isn't drying. It can be a bit uneven or patchy in it's wear which is the main reason it's not my favorite. The texture is a bit on the thicker side for my preference as well. I probably wouldn't repurchase. I received shade R300 described as Light Medium with Toasted Beige Undertones. I love the shade. It's ever so slightly too light for me. I would love to see a medium shade with this undertone. I love it's neutral to olive undertone as beiges work well on me when they're not really yellow based. I didn’t test the no flashback feature and this definitely doesn’t have any kind of grey cast as promised.
