Time for the October samples & empties post. Quick thoughts about each starting above L to R.
Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Correcting Hand Cream: This was OK, I wouldn't rebuy. I didn't notice any difference in dark spots on my hands, and it's only somewhat hydrating. It was thicker and heavier, but also slightly dry. Hard to describe how it feels, I prefer many other hand creams more.
Leonor Greyl Tonique Vivifant: I didn't notice a thing from this. I bought a whole bunch of Leonor Greyl stuff last year and so far it's not meeting my expectations for the price. Plus all their stuff is so heavily perfume scented which I hate. I talked about it some here.
Renee Rouleau Total Eye Repair Cream: Love it, thick, moisturizing without being greasy. I plan on reviewing it fully soon.
Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish: Love it, my favorite body polish I've tried to date. I reviewed it here.
Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum: Love it, staple. This is the third or fourth bottle I've finished. I talked about it here. The only complaint I have is the leaky packaging which if you go to their website it says they just repackaged it in an airless pump.
Yes to Coconut Body Wash: This was OK. Hydrating, not very sudsy more like a slippery wash. It went fast as I had to use more than I do with a regular body wash.
Davines Love Shampoo: This was OK, hydrating and gentle shampoo. I have others I like more so I wouldn't buy a full size for that reason.
VERB Hydrating Shampoo: This was OK. Sounded great ingredient wise, plus it was cheap. It's like a smoothing or glossing shampoo. Wasn't what I was looking for but a good product overall.
VERB Hydrating Conditioner: This was OK too. Again, great ingredients and cheap. Glossing style conditioner. It made my hair more slick than I like. I prefer texture and salt sprays for some wave and body.
Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser: I have a full size of this and love it, I just had a mini as well.
La Mer Reparative Body Sun Lotion: Eh, it was OK. I ended up using it for my hands as it had maybe one full body application in the tiny tube. I find a lot of La Mer over priced and over hyped so I wouldn't buy it.
Sunday Riley Good Genes: I've been working on several of these small tubes and I have a large bottle to get into as well. I prefer as a serum not as a mask. I will do a review when I'm done with all of them.
Natura Bisse Tensolift Neck Cream: This was nice. It was small so it's hard to see if there's an actual benefit from it.
Guerlain Maxi Lash So Volume Mascara: This was better than the original non volume version I didn't like. I'm not a fan of the rubber brush though.
LING Skincare Vitamin K Calming Solution: This actually was the first LING skincare product I liked some. It says solution but it was a light cream texture. I felt my skin was hydrated and looked good after using. It was a small sample so hard to tell if it had a huge effect in the long run. I may end up trying a bottle one day.
Juara Candlenut Body Creme: This was OK, a thick body butter with a food sweet scent. I usually don't use body butters as I prefer lotion or oil so I wouldn't buy it for that reason alone.
Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation S103: I liked this, it was medium to full coverage and not too greasy nor too matte. It was comfortable and not cakey. I have too many foundations right now, so I don't need to buy this, but maybe one day.
Byredo Oliver Peoples Fragrance: I loved this and bought a full size bottle with the last Barney's event. It's a light woody, sea salt scent. Unisex and right up my alley.
Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster: This was OK. Not that much different feeling than the regular Seaberry Oil. I love my Tata Harper and Zelens oils too much to need to buy this. But it wasn't bad.
Cane + Austin Miracle Pad: These are OK, I've tried them in the past. I get them in every SpaceNK gift bag with their beauty events. I'm not a big peel pad fan, I prefer gels or liquids.
Sunday Riley Bionic: Love the cream texture and great ingredients, I bought a big bottle to try that I will review one day. Sadly the large bottle has a what must be reformulated texture. It's more of a thick lotion than the cream sample I tried. The cream was better this is a touch sticky feeling.
Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Miracle Glow: This was OK. I tried it as both a mask and cleansing balm. I prefer other cleansing balms I have more and as a mask it was OK. I wouldn't buy it. I like Charlotte's color products but am not really into her perfume scented skincare except for the Goddess Mask which I like.
Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask: I've tried this before, it's OK. A heavy more greasy feeling cream. I didn't break out from it. I'm just not into overnight masks, might as well just use a face cream with the ingredients you want as I'll never add one of these on top of my face cream since it would be too much.
EVE LOM Age Defying Smoothing Treatment: These were OK. There was 4 capsules. The texture is silky almost with a bit of a silicone feel. They didn't break me out. After 4 capsules I didn't really notice anything, but hard to notice when you use something for 4 days only.
La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer: This was nice, good texture. Small sample again can't tell if it really did much.
Kat Burki Marine Collagen Gel: I liked this texture, it was a gel. Small sample problem again, not sure it did much but can never tell from a small sample. Great ingredients.
Aurelia Cell Revitalise Day Moisturizer: This was OK, it had some emulsifying wax in it which gave it this texture that took forever to rub in. I didn't like it for that reason.
ROLOXIN Lift Facial Treatment: This was terrible. Worst thing I've used in years. It dried after applying then it flaked off into my eyes. I wasn't making faces or doing anything it just flaked, then it got on my contacts and I had to change them. I rinsed it off early as I couldn't stand it on. I also noticed nothing and it was on 75% of what it needed to be.
Kate Somerville Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream: Nice texture, same small sample problem.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Sand: This reminded me of Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation. It's medium coverage and moist. Too moist for me and the shade was a touch dark for a NC25.
Shiseido Facial Cotton: A staple. So much better for toners than cotton balls. No shredding either compared to cheap cotton squares. Yet this is still affordable and just as good as Chanel's and Cle de Peau's.
Purederm Argan Oil Make-up Remover Towelettes: This was the second of two of these I had from Forever 21. Eh they're OK for swatching to remove the makeup from my arms, but they're kind of dry and didn't remove as well as the Yes to Cucumber ones I love.
