Omorovicza The Cure

Hungarian spa brand Omorovicza has long been one of my favorite brands. They have clean formulations, great product textures and there’s something magical about those Hungarian thermal waters that’s in all their products. The Cure is their newest launch. A nine day ampoule program to reset your skin. Details per Omorovicza:

The Cure is an intensive 9 day ampoule programme to renew and reset tired, stressed skin. Three concentrated phases, each containing a potent blend of ingredients, have been developed to deliver immediate, visible results. After completion, skin appears rested and luminous, with vitality restored.

Key Benefits:

  • Restores skin’s vitality
  • Improves radiance
  • Revives complexion
  • Repairs skin’s barrier

The Cure comes in a box as you can see below. The box details what days you should be using each ampoule.

There’s three phases and you get three ampoules for every phase so hence the nine day program. Details per Omorovicza & I linked below to their website more information about each phase.

PHASE 1 – Days 1 – 3
Resurface & Brighten
Powerful glycolic and mandelic acids combine with proteolytic enzymes to exfoliate and resurface, revealing a smoother, softer, more even complexion, and leaving skin optimally prepped for Phase 2. When using Phase 1, apply an SPF during the daytime.

PHASE 2 – Days 4 -6
Remineralise & Revive
A blend of sandalwood, ginseng and caffeine stimulates microcirculation, reduces inflammation, and eliminates toxins, whilst improving tone and texture. A supercharged dose of Omorovicza’s patented Healing Concentrate™ delivers skin healing minerals deep into the epidermis.

PHASE 3 – Days 7-9
Reconstruct & Replenish
A combination of precious oils is further enhanced with nourishing squalane to reconstruct and repair skin Barbary fig, kahai nut and chia seed oils strengthen the lipid barrier, rebuilding skin integrity and diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst raspberry seed oil restores suppleness and elasticity.

The application instructions are pretty simple. Cleanse, break open the ampoule, apply The Cure, apply moisturizer. Use every 3 months, or prior to an event.

Key Ingredients:

PHASE 1

Glycolic acid, a powerful AHA resurfaces skin while stimulating the production of collagen
Mandelic acid gently exfoliates and targets inflammation while reducing the appearance of pigmentation
Vegetable collagen enhances the absorption of acids by creating an invisible shield upon the skin

PHASE 2

Caffeine calms inflammation, promoting a tighter, brighter and more youthful-looking complexion
Ginseng stimulates lymphatic drainage while boosting hydration and improving skin texture
A supercharged dose of Omorovicza’s patented Healing Concentrate™ leaves skin firmer, supple and youthful in appearance

PHASE 3

Barbary fig & kahai nut oils boost the lipid content of skin to rebuild and renew the complexion

Tocopherol, a derivative of Vitamin E, protects against free-radical damage while targeting the visible signs of ageing

In short this is a nine day system to reset and revitalize your complexion. The instructions are to use it once every three months. I think it’s very true that if you take a minimal approach to skincare every now and then it very much resets your skin. I was looking forward to this break and I picked the Instant Plumping Cream as my night moisturizer for the duration. I varied my cleanser based on how I was feeling that day. This is essentially a resurfacing, reviving and replenishing treatment. Each in three day increments. I did end up keeping my retinol I was using at the moment as I feel that’s a product you want to keep going with if you’re currently using one. I was only using my current retinol 2x a week so that wasn’t that much extra in addition to this. I also kept my current eye cream. This was easily the most minimal night routine I had done in a long time. If you follow my routines you know I am not a minimalist.

Ampoules are single use glass vials that keep the air out. This means the ingredients are sealed in and not being degraded by being exposed to air. It keeps them as fresh as possible. You snap the top off and gently tap the contents out into your hand to apply. I love ampoules cause it reminds me of my early nursing days breaking open the little viles of medications. There’s something soothing about the snap. Phase 1 is a thin water light textured product with glycolic & mandelic acids plus proteolytic enzymes. This felt powerful enough. I don’t know the concentration of acids but I would guess around 10-15% or so. I felt a slight tingle at first that went away. There is actually quite a bit of liquid in these vials so I found myself doing about three layers of this by using my hands and patting it in. I could’ve used a cotton pad but I didn’t want to waste any. The amount of product in these could’ve been used for two nights I think. For the purpose of testing this out as a nine day ritual I used it all in one day. Had I been just buying and using this I might have stretched it out longer. Or saved some for the next week in a little container as my acid toner. Combined with the proteolytic enzymes this is a powerful resurfacing acid so I would say yes this does what it says. Remember acids increase cellular turnover and improve radiance while exfoliating top layers of the skin. The also help increases hydration, even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.

Phase 2 has a medium weight hydrating gel serum texture and white color. It combines caffeine, ginseng, sandalwood and the patented Omorovicza Healing Concentrate. Ginseng is a powerful antioxidant that also increases circulation. Caffeine has soothing and antioxidant properties plus it helps constrict blood vessels so it reduces redness and puffiness (temporarily). Sandalwood also stimulates microcirculation and is an antioxidant. So you have three antioxidants and stimulating ingredients to revitalize the skin combined with the healing concentrate which I earlier described as the magical elixir. I don’t know if it’s the minerals or what but it just really does wonders for my skin as far as it’s overall feel. The serum is easy to use one vial a night and it has a very light natural scent from the sandalwood but nothing major. I really want this serum as a bottle style serum. I want to use it outside of this set. I really liked the texture and way it made my skin look alive & awake.

Phase 3 is an oil essentially. It’s got prickly pear, kahai nut, raspberry, chia, squalane & vitamin E. This is the replenishing phase. It gives the nice healthy hydrated glow. It’s a medium weight textured oil that gives a nice radiant glow and feel to the skin. The oil also has probably double what I would normally use on my face at one time so this could be stretched out into two nights. I spent a bit of time trying to figure out if I could only use just the one ampoule product with a cream and be OK. I tend to use an oil twice daily so I was afraid of not using one in the first two phases. I tried it just to try it as true as possible and luckily it was hot and humid at the moment so it was OK but in the winter I think I would have to have an oil in the first two phases for my skin. I’m quite addicted to facial oils and they work well for me. They recommend moisturizers during phase 1 & 2 but possibly skipping in phase 3. I think that will just depend on your skin type. I like an oil and moisturizer every night so I would say this has some wiggle room to play with it for how it works for you. I would also recommend SPF during every phase not just during phase 1.

While I like the Instant Plumping Cream but I think I might have enjoyed using this with the Gold Rescue Cream or Rejuvenating Night Cream more. They both feel a bit more emollient or moisturizing for me and I might have felt better about skipping an oil, I just didn’t have any on hand to test it out that way. The Instant Plumping Cream doesn’t replenish oils in the same way the other two creams do. It’s more of a hydrating thicker cream. You can get examples of what to pair The Cure with on their site HERE based on your skin type. Overall thoughts are as always positive. Omorovicza never lets me down. It’s a pricey set just to reset & renew but Omorovicza is a luxury brand and the price isn’t much different from the rest of their products. If you’re an Omorovicza fan you’ll love The Cure. I think next time I’d like to play with pairings with other products in the line more (like creams) and add an oil in the first two phases if needed. At the end of nine days my skin felt happy, glowing and revitalized so I would say it was a success overall.

*The Cure was gifted but all thoughts are my own.
