Omrovicza Acid Solution

One of my favorite new launches this year was the Omorovicza Acid Solution. One of my favorite luxury brands, with the Hungarian thermal waters I love, made an acid toner or liquid exfoliant. Yes please. I prefer acid toners over acid serums as I love the light textures and they tend to be more gentle on my skin. Details per Omorovicza:

Combining a potent blend of acids, Acid Solution clarifies, brightens, and refines to revive dull complexions. Glycolic and lactic acid combine with caviar lime to gently exfoliate and promote skin renewal, whilst salicylic acid helps reduce pigmentation and even tone. Instantly hydrating, skin is left smoothed and glowing.

Directions After cleansing, pour a few drops into the palm of your hand, and pat over face and neck. Alternatively, apply using a cotton pad. Allow a few minutes to absorb, before following with serum and moisturiser. Avoid contact with eyes. When using acid products, use an SPF.

This comes in a tall, slim frosted glass bottle just like Omoressence. The texture is very light, hydrating and has a slippery feel to it. Acid Solution is a touch thicker and actually more hydrating than Omoressence. Acid Solution also has a light to almost nothing scent unlike Omoressence which has a more perfume like fragrance. It has a fragrance it’s just extremely light, I very much like it. You can use both of these together but I find Acid Solution combines both an acid toner and essence in one step. That’s a nice bonus. Acid Solution has a 6.5% concentration of acids with AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) and BHA (beta hydroxy acid). I love acid blends versus single acids. This one has glycolic & lactic acids plus caviar lime for AHAs and salicylic acid is the BHA. Think of AHAs as the ones that exfoliate and resurface smoothing skins texture, add moisture, help with lines/wrinkles and discoloration while BHA helps unclog and keep pores clear plus they’re anti-inflammatory (though they both do some of the same things ultimately it’s not black and white).

Acid toners are essentially liquid exfoliants so same rules of use apply: 2-3x a week which will suit many. Though this one is gentle enough I can see it being used more often depending on the skin and toleration. I could potentially use this every day myself, I had no irritation at all while using this. My sweet spot is 5-8% for acid toners as far as concentration, so this one is enough to have good effects for me yet not be too much. It’s also got the Hungarian thermal waters plus hydrators like glycerin, phospholipids and polyglucuronic acid. Polyglucuronic acid is an oligosaccharide that is a humectant or moisturizer for the skin. Overall I find Acid Solution hydrating plus the texture is just so nice. It’s a nice way to combine two steps and get an acid toner plus an essence in one. It’s also one of the few BHA toners I can tolerate on a more often basis without my skin feeling dry. I would easily pick Acid Solution over Omoressence if you are looking only to get one, though as I said earlier you can use both together. If you didn’t enjoy the stronger perfume scent of Omoressence try Acid Solution, I think you might enjoy the low scent more. Their Acid Fix serum is stronger and adding it in once a week in addition to Acid Solution could work for those more experienced with acids.
