Pixi Glow Tonic: Review

So I’ve been meaning to talk about Pixi Glow Tonic for a while. I’ve used a couple small bottles by now. It’s an ‘acid toner’. Meaning a toner that has an acid in it. In this case that acid is glycolic acid an AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acid. AHA’s are great for adding moisture to the skin, as well as resurfacing the skin by helping dead skin cell removal and promoting quicker cell turnover. The result is glowing more radiant skin. I love glycolic acid serums. Toners are nice too.

Details courtesy of Pixi: The Pixi glow tonic is highly concentrated, invigorating facial toner that deeply cleans pores by sweeping away excess oil and impurities.

• Exfoliates and purifies the skin with Glycolic Acid
• Ginseng improves circulation and energizes
• Aloe vera soothes and hydrates
• Refines the appearance of pores
• Gently accelerates cell renewal to reveal a brighter, glowing complexion
• Balances, heals and soothes for radient, healthier looking skin
• Alcohol free
• Suitable for all skin types
• Not tested on animals

How to Apply:

• Use: Either in the AM and PM or when needed.
• Step 1: Cleanse your face
• Step 2: Saturate a cotton pad with the Glow Tonic and sweep across face, neck and décolletage (avoiding eye area).
• Step 3: Follow with the a serum or moisturizer

Pixi Glow Tonic has 5% glycolic acid in it. It’s enough to do something, but not too much to be irritating. Any skin type can use it because of the lower level of glycolic acid in it. It’s only available at Pixi’s website and at Target. You can only get the 100 ml size on Target for $15. You can get the larger 250 ml size for $29 on Pixi’s site. Glow Tonic does do some resurfacing over time, it’s not an immediate effect as it’s gradual. It’s gentle. It doesn’t sting my skin at all like stronger AHA serums and toners such as Alpha-H Liquid Gold.

There are many fabulous things about Glow Tonic. Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, glycolic acid, ginseng and it’s alcohol free. I love everything about it except they added fragrance to it. Why ruin a fabulous formula with fragrance? It has a powdery scent. So beyond the powdery scent it’s great.
