SACHI Power of Duality: Saponins Cream Cleanser & Saffron Luminous Cleanser

For the first blog post of 2024 I'd like to introduce you to the newest creations from SACHI Skin: The Power of Duality

Sachi Skin’s new cleansing duo, pays homage to the cyclical states of skin, bringing timelessly efficacious ancient wisdom into modern life. Experience the combined power of the powerful Ayurvedic botanicals, Saponins and Saffron, for soothed, hydrated, radiant skin. The Saponins Cream Cleanser and Saffron Luminous Cleanser are designed to revolutionise your cleansing experience, bringing skin back to its healthiest, most balanced state.

“Duality is key to living harmoniously, the reflection of symmetry that exists around us, and the acceptance of “both”. It proves that balance is usually experienced between two opposing forces. Once you understand that everything in life exists on this continuum, your appreciation of life, skin, health and everything around you will change.” Farah Bashir, Founder of Sachi Skin

The Saponins Calming Cream Cleanser and Saffron Luminous Gel Cleanser are designed to work as a synergistic cleansing duo; from calming, and hydrating to brightening or purifying the skin. The perfect duality for addressing your cycling states and the continuous change your skin undergoes over time.

I've had the pleasure of testing these cleansers during their lab sample phase, through multiple versions and iterations over the last year. The final version has been in my hands for about two months and y'all are going to love them. Seriously. I've been begging Farah to launch the cream cleanser early for a year easy. That's how excited I was for it to launch officially. You know I love SACHI Skin--they never fail to deliver a great product. You can read previous reviews HERE, HERE and HERE.

Let's start with my favorite of the two - Saponins Cream Cleanser.

Gently cleanses, rebalances, hydrates and protects the skin's natural equilibrium. Saponins Cream Cleanser is a smooth, rich enveloping PH balanced formulation enhanced with soothing Ayurvedic botanicals, that remove impurities while actively nourishing unbalanced, dehydrated, over processed and depleted skins. This emollient, lipid-enriched formula cleanses while helping to minimise damage of vital proteins and lipids that create the skin’s natural protective shield to restore skin equilibrium.

Derived from the Ayurvedic Soapberry, saponins is a plant surfactant that lathers gently. This star ingredient is supported by modern cleansing technologies, and a luxurious blend of high-quality natural ingredients including Ayurvedic kokum butter (garcinia indica or padadari), butterfly pea (aparajita,) quinoa amino acids, prebiotics, panthenol, apricot and oat oil. The Saponins Cream Cleanser works as a gentle and efficacious cleanse, while respecting the skin’s own natural function, and its precious integrity.

I have really dry skin and rosacea so I love a creamy cleanser as they don't dry out my skin. A lot of cream cleansers are kind of meh, as they're either too thick and leave a residue or they're really fragranced. There are a few I really like texture wise, but they lack in the area of sensorial pleasure through scent. It's a conundrum for me as essential oils and artificial fragrance can irritate my rosacea, but I do enjoy a nice light pleasurable scent. Enter SACHI who made a cream cleanser with a pleasurable, completely addicting scent--without essential oils or artificial fragrance. This one is great for dry or sensitive skin, as well as all types. I can't see anyone this wouldn't work for unless you dislike creamy cleansers.

Key Ingredients:

  • Soapberry Saponins - Ancient surfactants to help gently remove impurities whilst supporting the skin's natural barrier.
  • Oat Oil and Cucumber Seed Oils - Soothing and moisturizing.
  • Panthenol - Soothing.
  • Glycerin - Hydrating, humectant.
  • Quinoa - Grain that's antioxidant rich with polyphenols, minerals and amino acids to support skin's softness and hydration.
  • Apricot and Safflower Seed Oil - Moisturizing lipids.
  • Blue Butterfly Pea - Soothing, helps reduce redness. Antioxidant rich with quercetin and anthocyanins. Potential anti-glycation properties.
  • Kokum Butter - Softening, nourishing and restorative butter rich in antioxidants with anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Inulin, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide - Prebiotics to support the biome and hydrate.

The scent is light and fresh. I smell the fresh cucumber which is one of my favorite skincare scents, combined with the sweetness of the apricot oil and the blue butterfly pea extract. It's utterly intoxicating this scent. Blue butterfly pea doesn't contain aromatic compounds known to irritate the skin. It's a brilliant scent. I'd like it in a balm cleanser too... (hint hint).

The texture of the cleanser is light and airy. It doesn't feel too heavy, nor does it leave a heavy residue on the skin like some cream cleansers. This retails for $44. Can you get a cheaper cream cleanser--yes. Will it be as pleasurable as this one? Nope. Below I mixed it with a little water so you can see how it's not too heavy. I find it soothing, non-irritating and it's perfect for this time of year to launch. I'll be using it year round myself. If you have dry skin--you'll adore this one. If you're sensitive and have been looking for a cleanser with a little extra oomph and pizzaz beyond a scentless cleanser--you'll love it.

I've been waiting for a year to tell you that it's in my top 3 holy grail cream cleansers. I knew this after the first lab samples. Sente and Stratia are the other two I would put in my top 3 cause I know y'all will ask. Those two are both great if you need a scentless cleanser. If you want a little sensorial pleasure while you cleanse--then go with SACHI. Our skincare routines are about more than just cleansing and applying moisturizer. It's a de-stress for the end of the day, a way to unwind and lock yourself in the bathroom away from your kids. Give yourself some sensorial pleasure--you deserve it.

Next is the Saffron Luminous Cleanser.

The Saffron Luminous Gel Cleanser is a refreshing gel formula that dissolves impurities and makeup without disrupting the skin's natural balance. Saffron is an Ayurvedic super-ingredient which comes with an array of medicinal benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties, to help calm, brighten and nourish the skin. The cleanser also contains turmeric, safflower oil, boswellia serrata extract, pomegranate extract and lactic acid to gently refine skin texture, brighten and soften the skin, ready for skincare or make-up.

The counterpart to the Saponins Cream Cleanser, this nourishing formula completes Sachi’s duo as the second step of your double cleanse for a dreamlike radiance. If using by itself, apply in the evening for a complete cleanse, allowing you to end your day with the pampering you deserve.

Key Ingredients:

  • Turmeric & Pomegranate Extract - Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich extracts to support the appearance of uneven tones for radiance and glow.
  • Saffron Extract - Ayurvedic antioxidant to revive, brighten and protect dull skin.
  • Glycerin - 15% to soften and support plump, hydrated skin.
  • Cucumber and Oat Oils - Soothing and moisturizing.
  • Lactic Acid - Gentle resurfacing of the skin, hydrating.
  • Frankincense - Anti-inflammatory to help soothe.

I know I don't usually talk about gel cleansers much anymore with my dry skin, but this one is actually fine for me. It has a kind of fluffy gel texture--not a slippery gel. This one also has a glorious light scent. For the scent I get mostly cucumber mixed with pomegranate giving it a sweeter edge. I've been using this one in the shower in the morning. The color is yellow from the saffron and turmeric. I mix a little bit with water, then apply in the shower. I don't think it's a foaming cleanser. Some might consider it low foaming--either way it's very low foaming at most. You can see below I mixed some water with it. My pH strip gives me around 4.5 on this one.

I find this one non-drying for a gel cleanser--which is rare for me (dry skin). Due to my rosacea it's not one I would use multiple times a week because of the lactic acid. It's nice for a weekly cleanse for me, I’ll likely use it more in the summer and skip during the colder parts of winter when I’m more sensitized. For anyone who's not sensitive feel free to use this as many times as you like. That's just my advice for the sensitive types who can be intolerant of acids. It is way better to use a wash off than a leave on exfoliant tolerance wise. I would consider this a gentle radiance cleanser with mild exfoliation. With a glorious scent. This is for congested, oily types or those with dullness. Most can use it. If you're really sensitive or dry I would go with the creamy cleanser instead. Retail is $39.

These items were provided in PR although I would have bought them anyway. It does not sway my opinion. The Saponins Cream Cleanser joins Pro Resilience Serum and Ursolic Acid & Retinal Overnight Reform as my ultimate SACHI Skin favorite products.
