Time to talk about a few current product favorites. I've been going through a few items from January Labs skincare line. So far so good. The Moisture Balancing Lotion is a really nice light lotion. It's cheap, has fabulous ingredients and is moisturizing without being heavy or greasy. I love it. More to come shortly.
Summer is here in Texas. I've been playing with new sunscreens and switching to new lighter skincare and makeup to battle the heat. Dr Jart+ UV Sun Fluid is a nice light fluid lotion. It's not greasy and leaves no white residue. It's not drying like other sunscreen fluids with alcohol. Glossier Invisible Shield is a nice clear gel serum textured sunscreen. This texture seems to be the new future of sunscreens. I've seen a few like it popping up on the market. It's completely clear and feels like a hydrating serum. It's not greasy at all. More to come in a sunscreen post coming up.
SUQQU's Refining Primer is a light SPF fluid primer. It works great for summer as it's not heavy. Use it under a foundation that's a touch too moisturizing to tone it down for summer. Review here. This Eve Lom Time Retreat Hand Treatment blew me away. In four days after using it and the texture visibly changed on my hands. It's not greasy and non irritating. It looks like it will last a long time as you don't need much. More to come. Bourjois Happy Light Matte Serum Primer is perfect for summer. It will mattify your face and make any moisturizing foundation be better suited to summer. It can be a bit drying in the cheeks if you have dry cheeks. So you may need to use it on the tzone more if you have combo skin. It's got a light texture and best of all it's cheap.
In the summer I like cream blushes. Glossier's Cloud Paint in Dusk is the perfect nude pink. It's a light fluid cream texture that's layerable. It's not too heavy for summer and gives a nice natural tint to the cheeks. It's very subtle, don't expect heavy pigment. Since I grabbed Chanel's Ombre Premiere cream shadows I haven't been able to put them down. Undertone is a nice nude base and Silver Pink is the perfect taupe that's been my go to for weeks. Review here.
I haven't been a fan of MAC for a while. I like some things here and there. More so that the colors haven't been up my alley for a while. I felt the need to hunt down their Fleur de Force collaboration lipstick. It was a UK exclusive and was sadly sold out in hours. The color is described as a cool beige but it's really the perfect creamy nude pink. I've been reaching for it all the time. It's a Creamsheen finish. More to come.
I wasn't sure I was going to like Dolce & Gabbana's new Miss Sicily Colour & Care Lipstick in Anna. Anna is a balm style lipstick with a glossy sheen. It's described as a perfect nude. It's a sheer nude pink peach. I love the glossy balm finish, it's hydrating and super comfortable to wear. Details per Nordstrom:
