I've been using the affordable indie skincare brand Stratia for about five years now. I was first turned onto them by the cult favorite product Liquid Gold seen all over Instagram. I also loved the Velvet Cleanser. The first time I bought the products Liquid Gold was in a glass bottle. Now they have had a few rebrands of the packaging, I enjoy the current look the most. Liquid Gold is now called Lipid Gold, no change to the formulation. Stratia has finally added an eye cream to their product line. Lipid Gold Eye Cream is a richer, eye friendly version of their bestselling Lipid Gold.
Details per Stratia website:
All the power of Lipid Gold in a nourishing eye cream formula designed to combat dark undereye circles, enhance firmness, and fortify the delicate skin around eyes. We took the power of our beloved Lipid Gold formula and increased the ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids to help strengthen and protect the uniquely thin skin around the eyes. The formula also features some new additions like algae extract and chrysin to fight dark undereye circles, two new peptides to increase skin firmness, and occlusives to help lock in moisture.
Key Benefits:
- Mimics natural skin barrier with ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids
- Fights dark circles by helping to clear out pigment pooled beneath the skin
- Peptides to firm skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines
- Occlusives to lock in moisture and prevent irritation
Key Ingredients:
-
Ceramide AP One of several ceramides, a class of naturally-occurring lipids crucial for skin barrier health.
-
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 A signaling peptide shown to increase skin firmness and collagen production.

I totally love this eye cream. I've only been using it for a week and a half but it's so great. It's lipid rich and has petrolatum (yes baby!) so this is perfect for really dry under eyes like mine. First off it's $21 for 0.5 oz which is the typical eye cream size. The price point is spot on for being affordable. Honestly I can't think of any eye cream in this lower price range that I actually like. I love the pump packaging. The texture of the eye cream is thin, but not too thin. It isn't serum level thin, more like a lotion texture. It's thicker than Lipid Gold the serum. The color is a very deep yellow orange which comes from the antioxidant rich sea buckthorn oils. This has no discernible scent.
Don't let the lotion texture fool you, this baby is rich with fatty acids, cholesterol and ceramides to really moisturize and help keep those fine lines at bay. The lipid rich profile is combined with a few firming signal peptides plus some pigmentation fighters for dark circles. The best part is the petrolatum for me. This is the gold standard, best occlusive you can put into a cream/moisturizer in order to really seal all that hydration/moisture in the skin and reduce TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss).
I have extremely dry under eyes and not that many eye creams really cut it for me. They need to be rich, but I like it if they're not too greasy or heavy so they don't migrate into my eyes. This one is absolute perfection. It's not greasy, it's moisturizing which I need, plus it has longevity. It lasts well on my skin. My really dry skin soaks up lipids so fast then my under eyes end up dry and sore hours later. The petrolatum was an excellent choice, it gives this product a lasting ability while remaining light. For the price I highly recommend trying.
