Sunday Riley is a brand I've been slowly working through all the products. The Bionic Anti-aging Cream is the next I have to review. Per SpaceNK:
"A powerful cream which prevents and reverses the signs of aging. Loaded with actives that help to extend the lifespan of your skin, repairing and restoring while you sleep.
Bionic is the “multivitamin” of anti-aging creams, combating every anti-aging concern and cause of aging. Loaded with Resveratol and EGCG, ingredients that activate your body's ability to extend the lifespan of our cells (true anti-aging!) and repair and restore collagen, the “building block” of the skin. Co-Q10, EMPP, and Copper Peptides help the skin to repair and restore while you are sleeping - particularly helpful during times of stress or when you are not getting enough rest. Helps provide the skin energy and nutrients to regenerate skin, repair damage, and build strong collagen. Anti-oxidants restore and protect skin. Thanks to UV repair benefits of EGCG and Resveratrol, it combats pollution exposure and is a great post-UV product."
The texture is a thicker gel cream. Like a thicker lotion. It's yellow in color. The scent is an almost banana kind of fruit scent. This is a retinol night cream. So not for you pregnant ladies. I tried a sample of this and loved it. It was a great medium weight cream. I bought a full size bottle and was disappointed to learn they had reformulated it to be a lighter more gel cream texture. It was more sticky and less hydrating than the sample I had tried.
It was overall hydrating enough for night. It had some effects as far as tightening and skin plumping. It just has this unpleasant sticky texture. It's loaded with great stuff: Resveratol, green tea, copper peptides and Co-Q10. I love the formula, hate the reformulated texture. Please make this like it was originally Sunday Riley. I didn't experience any breakouts from it, it was just sticky in texture. I notice this is sold out on most sites now, maybe they're reformulating again, or discontinuing.
Ingredients:
I had no idea they reformulated the Bionic Cream! I tried it as well and was similarly underwhelmed. Not sure which version I was using using though. But yeah, the texture was super tacky, to the point of actually feeling sticky on my face. And the sickly sweet scent made it even worse - it literally made me feel like I was smearing store bought banana pudding on my face. Such a bummer because the ingredients list is impressive and I didn't see any real results. Didn't make my skin worse but didn't improve it either.
I did love the packaging with the pump bottle though. I wish the Tidal cream wasn't in a jar, it feels so unhygienic. I like the Tidal better but it still isn't the one for me. Hopefully, SR has some new moisturiser under wraps that will blow us away!
I know. The Tidal scent gets to me. Too powdery and floral. I actually prefer the fruit scent of the Adrenaline or Bionic. But the sticky texture on both of those turned me off. Bionic was so much better before-it was a nice creamy non sticky cream. It was good for hydration, some retinol benefits and some antioxidants. Lets wait and see what they do with their line.
