Suqqu Creamy Glow Lipstick 5, 6 & 12: Review & Swatches

Suqqu lipsticks are slim, glossy black metal cases. Their Creamy Glow Lipsticks have a cult following and I decided to try a few out. They have sadly been discontinued so short of eBay or just finding one on a site like Selfridges or a blog sale they're becoming harder to find. They are also very expensive for a lipstick. I want to say it was about $40 off Selfridges without shipping or you're going to get closer to $60 off a markup site. At 3.8g that's a pricey lipstick.

But I had to see what the fuss was about. I have shades 5, 6 and 12. They are all creamy non shimmery colors. They glide on like butter, are thin but pigmented and apply smooth. My only gripe with them is I find them drying. I know a lot of people don't but for me I have to apply it every hour at least. They feel great on for about 10 min for me then it starts to get dry. I find myself reapplying not because the color is totally gone but because of the dryness. I do feel color wise they also don't have a long lasting power, the color fades within the hour on me and needs a touch up. I didn't wear liner with them, so that may help. But overall I'll play with the 3 I have but for the price I can't see myself buying more even if they weren't discontinued. Though MAC Lustres are the same way for me and I keep buying them so who knows maybe I would have. Also I prefer some shimmer in my lipstick and these all have none. So they did not get to be a holy grail for me.

5 Suzumecha is a peachy nude pink. Very your lip but better. 6 Umegasumi (which I got off Selfridges so they may still have it) is a nude pink, it's less peachy and a touch lighter than 5. 12 Hiwada is a nude that doesn't wash me out.
