The February Boxwalla Beauty Box X Votary London

If you’ve been following me for a while you know I adore Votary London. So I was excited when Boxwalla my favorite beauty subscription box teamed up with British brand Votary for the February edition of the beauty box. The Votary Super Seed line is my favorite from the Votary brand. It got a blend of cold pressed seed oils and the range is fragrance free. This box includes one of my all time favorite products ever the Super Seed Facial Oil and the newly revamped Super Seed Nutrient Cream. The retail value of this box is $212 and you have until February first to subscribe and this box. Trust me the facial oil alone is worth subscribing.

The Super Seed Facial Oil is a blend of 22 nutrient rich seed oils. What I adore about it is it’s lightweight texture yet it’s so soothing and nourishing as well. It will fix my skin when I’m having a bad day. These two are made for sensitive and stressed skin. They’re fragrance and essential oil free. I can literally use this oil year round day or night and it works for me every time. It works in any routine. It’s hard for me to pick only one product that I would used above all else but in the case of facial oils—it’s this one. It absorbs quickly, leaves a nice glow and really soothes & nourishes. This oil has grapeseed, pomegranate, cranberry, camellia, rosehip, borage & calendula oils are all high in tannins and have astringent properties. Chia, cranberry, hemp, strawberry and blueberry oils are all high in a-linolenic acid and rich in omega 3 fatty acids. They are great for inflammation. Strawberry oil is high in anti-inflammatory ellagic acid.

Carrot, cherry seed and camelia oils are richer in texture and great for dry skin. They are high in oleic acid and omega 9 fatty acids. Pumpkin is also one of my favorite oils. Pumpkin, hemp, grapeseed, melon, raspberry, black seed (black cumin) and sunflower oils which are all rich in linolenic acid and omega 6 fatty acids. They’re great for combo, oily and blemished skins. Meadowfoam oil is similar to jojoba but cheaper and it has antioxidant and skin softening properties. It also can help slow TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss). Broccoli seed oil contains an abundant amount of fatty acids. It’s high in erucic acid an omega 9 fatty acid that has a unique ability like silicone to make a smooth finish on the skin. Quite interesting & it’s called the silicone oil on some websites. It also contains antioxidants like vitamin C, E & vitamin A so it’s a natural retinol. Original review HERE.

I adore Votary’s green glass bottles and packaging. The outer boxes are a total treat they’re so luxurious and pretty. The Super Seed Nutrient Cream launched a while back but had a recent tweak to the formulation. This cream has a thick, rich, creamy texture but it’s also got a slightly matte finish on the skin. It’s deeply nourishing. I do prefer it as a night cream. This cream will suit dry, normal and some combo skin types. It has a lush texture and the fragrance free formula is great for sensitive or reactive skin. It has seed oils such as blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, tomato, chia, pumpkin, camellia, hemp, borage, melon, carrot & broccoli oils. It’s got mango seed butter, aloe and hyaluronic acid for hydrating. The new version has hyaluronic acid which the old did not. Plus the aloe is more abundant. It feels a touch lighter and creamier plus more glossy and luxe in texture now.

This cream does have coconut oil. I tend to do poorly with coconut oil as you’ve seen me talk about that from time to time. However this coconut oil seems to be OK with my skin in this formulation. Not every coconut oil product I can say that same about. It’s rich enough though. That’s why it’s a night only moisturizer for me. I can’t use it nightly & I pull it out when I want a richer cream. Dry skin should be able to use this year round. If I was in a cooler and drier climate using this all the time might be OK. It’s really nice as the ultra nourishing fragrance free cream but it may be too rich for a few people. Original review HERE.

Overall this is a stellar box and I hope you all come to love Votary as I do. The soothing, nourishing and fragrance free Super Seed line is such a special line that I completely adore. The oil is phenomenal and I highly recommend it. It’s not only my favorite Votary product but my favorite facial oil.
