Top 3: Cleansing Balms

I’m a huge cleansing balm lover. There’s nothing more relaxing and satisfying than massaging the day away. I adore a good cleansing balm at night. Oil removes oil so remember oil based first to remove oil based makeup then follow with a milky or gel cleanser second. Double cleansing will change your life. I’ve tried quite a few cleansing balms over the years. I love how well they remove makeup and yet they also leave my skin soft and hydrated, never stripped or dry. I could’ve picked three for my Top 3 series but honestly there is really only two cleansing balms I completely adore and would use over and over again. I’ve actually purchased both of these several times over and if I could only have two it would these ones.

Both of these have a melty balm texture so they’re light and really easy to spread on the skin. Deviant Skincare Cleansing Concentrate is green in color, has a melty light texture and it emulsifies to rinse clean. It’s fragrance and essential oil free. This one has an earthy green and nutty scent which I’ve grown to quite love. It can be a one and done cleanser if you wish though I often double cleanse with it. It’s got a lot of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory oils. It’s great for all skin types even sensitive and acne or blemish prone. Its got hemp, cucumber, camellia, sacha inchi, blueberry, perilla, borage & broccoli seed oils. Hands down one of my favorites and I will repurchase again. Review HERE.

YOU Skincare Barrier Repair Cleansing Balm is an old favorite of mine. The yellow hued cleansing balm was actually one of my first cleansing balms ever. I’ve been using it for at least three years or so. I was immediately in love with it’s melty texture. At the time I knew no others that had that same texture. This one doesn’t emulsify so make sure you use a cloth to remove it and double cleanse. This one is also antioxidant rich and has a light citrus scent. It’s has rice bran, papaya, watermelon, baobab, elderberry, sea buckthorn, sunflower, calendula & black cumin oils plus a few citrus oils. It leaves my skin soft and hydrated plus totally clean. I love the lighter weight texture versus a thick based balm. Review HERE.

I have several others I could put as number three but I like to rotate them and play so I left them out of this post. There are many great cleansing balms. Some that deserve mention are Lovinah Power Cleansing Balm, Kat Burki Nourishing Cleansing Balm & Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm. All of them have their own texture and ingredient profile that make them special. Deviant and YOU both have a similar texture but different oil profiles so I like having both around and will continue to repurchase both happily.
