Top 3: Detox Cleansers

In the summer I love a good detox cleanser. I get extra grimy from all the heat, humidity, sweat and increased oil production so I just want that extra help in my cleansers. I picked my three favorites to share with you. I love these as second cleanse at night or as a single morning cleanse. They all have strong detox, grime removal capabilities plus help balance extra oil well while refreshing the skin. Skinbetter Oxygen Infusion Wash is the only one of the three that’s clay free. It uses AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and oxygen to refresh and purify the skin. This starts out as a thin clear gel then when you rub it on the skin it starts to bubble up a bit. It’s very good at refreshing the skin and if you feel that oily grime this really helps make your skin feel like new. I do recommend you apply on dry skin, then start to rub, then add water and finish rinsing. You can use it as a morning or second cleanse. It works just fine either way. Review HERE.

I’m on my second bottle of the Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser. This one uses clay, enzymes and natural salicylic acid from willow bark to purify and cleanse the skin. It has a gel to oil texture so it’s best applied on dry skin, rubbed in, then add water and rinse. Like the others can be used in the morning or as a second cleanse. This has been reformulated a bit since I originally reviewed it HERE. It’s less drying that it was on first launch which I love. It has such a nice light citrus scent, very pleasant. It just leaves my skin silky soft and feeling so clean without being stripped dry. Absolute perfection for summer (or if you have oily skin that needs a detox cleanser a lot).

African Botanics Baobab Clay Oxygenating Cleanser uses African clay to help detox and purify the skin. It has a thicker clay gel texture. I always love the combo of ingredients in African Botanics products. This has kigella and aloe to help firm along with vitamin C and other African extracts. This has a earthy, slightly citrus and floral scent. It’s great at regulating sebum production on the skin. You’ll see this cleanser is quite popular with those who have oily skin. Same as the others that I love this alone in the morning or as a second cleanse. You can use this one on wet or dry skin. I actually prefer this one on wet skin better. It’s recently been revamped a little so the color and texture of the cleanser is different now. It’s lighter and more gel like. I’ll probably grab a new tube of this before next summer and test out the new texture then.

All of these are great choices if you like a detox, purifying or sebum regulating cleanser. They’re all great at really refreshing the skin. Two are very green beauty choices with really nice inci lists, one is more clinical or medical grade skincare as you can only find Skinbetter Science in a physicians office.
