Victoria Beckham Beauty

I think one of the most anticipated and hottest recent launches was the Victoria Beckham Beauty collection. While I was never a big fan of The Spice Girls (I was too old when they came out though I did end up liking one song eventually) I did always like Victoria Beckhams clean style. I liked the Estee Lauder collection a few years back and I still use my primer a lot. The packaging of that Estee Lauder collection was killer so I had no doubt she would do it again this time with her own line. I heard she took the creative director or some person from Estee Lauder with her to collaborate on this line so I’m not surprised parts of it emulate that iconic collaboration.

I grabbed two things to start both of them eye products. The line is a clean beauty based brand so sustainable packaging and clean ingredients. The Smoky Eye Brick has a luxe, heavyweight metal package which I love. It’s got faux turtle shell which I also love. So 5/5 on packaging. I grabbed the Signature quad which is the neutral palette (imagine that). It has a large base shade which is a matte warm cream beige. Next there’s a matte light pinky peach. There’s a little strip of a deep matte brown for shading, contouring or lining. The end shade is a satin medium deep taupey brown. Even though it looks satin with a hint of shimmer it actually really looks just matte on the eye. Details per Victoria Beckham Beauty:

Inspired by Victoria’s signature smoky eye and iconic style, each of these richly pigmented palettes offers a curated selection of shades in a smooth, satin matte finish — streamlined to be everything you need to create your own modern smoky eye. Unique pressing technology allows all four shades to live in one sleek brass compact for maximum product in minimal packaging.

Smoky Eye Brick in Signature palette features Victoria’s favourite shades for an everyday contoured eye.

Cami is a neutral beige
Slip is a soft peach pink
Saddle is a deep brown
Suede is a medium taupe

So overall I think the packaging is stunning and spot on. The shades are nice and they make a nice smoky neutral eye, so again does what it says. Signature is a range of shades anyone can use. The shadow texture is soft, it’s a bit powdery and kicks up powder when you swipe it. It’s not a dry matte nor is it streaky. The colors are pretty pigmented and they apply and blend well. The satin Suede shade was the best performing of the bunch, it was the least powdery and had the smoothest texture. If you like matte and smoky neutrals combined with luxury packaging you’ll love this. It’s a great matte formula. I tend to not like mattes so this wasn’t my favorite palette. I liked the one satin shade but I needed more shimmer in my life. I knew that buying it but I felt I had to try the iconic collection just to see. But since Suede went on virtually mate instead of stain shimmery it ended up being a bust for me. However, this will suit a ton of people well. If soft mattes are your thing.

I also grabbed the Lid Lustre in Mink. This reminds me of one Estee Lauder collab product in particular-See HERE. Details per Victoria Beckham Beauty:

Lid Lustre adds a layer of life, dimension, and brilliance to your look. Inspired by the healing and protective power of crystals—Victoria surrounds herself with them—each shade is infused with a different crystal for aura-amplifying energy. Striking shades in a wet, pearly finish are tailor-made for buildable, high-shine brilliance.

Lid Lustre in Mink is taupe brown with mix of gold and silver pearl and infused with Tigers Eye which is known as the gemstone of courage, strength and personal power.

Lid Lustre’s unique soft press powder technology contains over 60% pearlescent pigments. Due to the delicate nature of this formula, we recommend keeping the disc provided on top of the product to protect in between uses.

This cream shadow comes in a glass pot with the turtle shell lid. Again 5/5 on packaging. The shadow has a creamy texture and it glides on beautifully. It’s extremely pigmented especially for a cream eyeshadow. It has a beautiful deep espresso brown base with a ton of silver micro glitter. It is grown up glitter for sure on the lids. I don’t like glitter at all and I did like it. It does last the day and creases minimally which again was a surprise so it has a great cream formula. I had a hard time wearing it often due to the intense darker nature of the shade. It didn’t my work environment really. I think if you’re the type who goes out a lot and is up at night going out this will be fabulous for you. In my club and bar hopping days I would have loved this shadow. It was just a bit much for a day look for me. As I’m in bed quite often at 830 it just was a bit much for me. Quite stunning product though if it suits your needs.

I’ve been curious about the lip stain but I’m holding out hoping there will be foundation or cream blush eventually. I think that will be my area of calling with this brand. I do really want the two skincare items just launched which I see myself getting eventually.

  1. Can you post a comparative picture of this Lid Lustre compared to her bronzy shade in the Estee Lauder collection? I have that one and I don’t know if I “need” to purchase this one as well. Thanks!
