Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Eye Metal Bitter Clove: Review & Swatches

So I bought Bitter Clove Eye Metal when it originally launched in September. I didn't post a review because it sold out so quickly it felt like what's the point. Now Estee Lauder and Victoria Beckham are releasing the collection again which is sure to make many people happy. Details below per Victoria Beckham's site:

This rich, color powder eyeshadow delivers a high-shine finish to the eye. The densely pigmented color can be worn alone, or layered over Eye Ink for an oil-slick finish. Use the Eye Metal in Bitter Clove to create the London city look.

First off I'll start with the packaging. Luxe and divine. A ribbed faux leather case with a weighty feel and gold details. For $45 it should be luxe. The Eye Metal is a really shimmery, sparkly, glittery medium cool brown with an almost khaki tint. It's very sparkly and glittery. Silver micro glitter is abundant.

It's a nice texture in that it can be used sheer but layers easily for a good color payoff. It has a slight emollient feel to the powder. It feels hydrating, like those eyeshadows that feel like they have a touch of oil to them, not powdery at all. Some of the Make Up For Ever really shimmery ones feel the same way.

It was way too much for me in the sparkle and glitter department. It is very much like the Tom Ford glitter and Charlotte Tilbury Pop shades. Except more pigmented than those two brands. It just couldn't be used for me in a daytime setting. This would be great for a person going out for a night look. Or just for anyone who loves really sparkly and glittery shadows. I love the package and texture and was sad it didn't work for me.
