You all know how much I love YOU Skincare by now. They just launched on The Boxwalla retail site so I might as well go over a few more items from the line. The Multivitamin Restorative Face Balm has been revamped since the last time I talked about it. The texture is smoother. This is essentially a multi-functional product. It's a balm with essential fatty acids, antioxidants and encapsulated retinol. It could be a one and dine product for many. Details per YOU Skincare:
A multi-function product. This has texture of a balm that melt upon contact leaving skin velvety smooth. With a balanced fatty acids profile, rich in vitamins A, Bs, C, D, E, K, flavonoids, lycopene, carotenoids, and phytosterols it is excellent for inflamed skin and help improves moisture and skin’s barrier, prevent Transepidermal water loss (TEWL). The Retinol in this formulation is in liposome encapsulated form. It’s more stable and less irritating.

YOU Skincare is all about high quality ingredients, effective products yet ones that don't irritate or cause barrier damage. I always love their formulations, so well done and high quality. It's truly a niche Instagram brand, you either know it or you don't. It's a small indie brand but don't mistake that aspect. Amy is a hell of a formulator. I love the creamy texture change to this balm, it's light and melts right into the skin. No heavy or greasy feel. This balm has a juicy yellow hue, kokum & cupuacu butters, encapsulated retinol (gentler), antioxidant rich oils like goji, elderberry, sea buckthorn & pomegranate, acai fruit plus rice bran oil, black cumin & phospholipids. It has a very light citrus vanilla scent. I tend to use a separate retinoid product so I didn't reach for this one often, I prefer her retinol serum to this but I do love the creamy texture of this balm. It's almost balm meets cream. It you want a one and done product this is definitely for you, if you're more of a larger routine person who has a dedicated retinoid then this may not be your cup of tea. It's gentle for sure, Amy doesn't formulate anything that compromises the skin barrier in extreme ways (can't say that for every brand).
The Congestion Clearing Enzyme Mask is a product I didn't know I needed or would love as I do. A gel like mask with enzymes and gentle rice bran wax beads for light exfoliation. Details per YOU Skincare:
The turnover rate of our skin decreases as we age. One way to combat this is to exfoliate. Exfoliation helps remove old dead skin cells, so they don’t get stuck in the pores causing clogged pores. Exfoliation is necessary yet it’s very important not to overdo it. Over exfoliation will damage the skin’s acid mantle, causing irritations, leading to more dehydration, and blemishes.
Enzyme exfoliation is more gentle yet effective. Our advanced formulation will thoroughly clean the pores without damage the skin barrier. It helps skin look more even tone, smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Skin looks fresh, radiant, revitalized, and vibrant.
Amy’s Tips The mask contains tiny circular beads (rice bran wax) that will give you a light physical exfoliation in addition to the enzyme. Only apply light pressure in a circular motion to prevent over-exfoliation of the delicate skin.
Directions To be apply onto clean and wet skin. Leave on for 2-5 minutes.
Ingredients
Aloe Vera Juice, Aqua (Water), Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Bacillus Ferment, Glycerin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Panthenol, Astaxanthin, Sunflower Wax, Oryza Sativa Cera (Rice) Bran Wax, Perilla Frutescens (Perilla) Seed Oil, Azadirachta Indica (Neem) Oil, Sodium Polyacrylate, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Gluconate, L-ascorbic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Didecyldimonium Chloride.
You can see the lighter creamy emulsion gel texture with a sprinkling of rice bran wax beads. I apply this and leave it on for two minutes. That's enough for me. It's actually a little more potent that I figured it would be. It subs as a morning cleanser so you can do a two in one cleanser & mask with exfoliation. It's still gentle and effective. This has a light natural fresh scent. It's got turmeric extract, aloe, licorice and probiotic enzymes. I normally dislike physical exfoliants and yes would I prefer this without them? Yes. However, this one is tolerable enough for my rosacea skin. So think very gentle. I love how quick this is (two minutes) and how smooth it leaves my skin without irritating or sensitizing it.
