Elevare Plus +

I had the chance to see the Elevare Skin tools in action at the New Beauty Report Live 2018 event in New York last fall. I’m even more ecstatic that I’ve been able to test the Elevare Plus + for the last few months. It’s been about five years since I last tested a hand held device. I tried the Tria right before I got pregnant and it wasn’t a really memorable experience. It stung like rubber bands snapping my skin and didn’t deliver any really noticeable results. I also didn’t use it properly as I was off put by the pain it caused while using. I think if you’re going to be successful using something it needs to be easy to use and mostly pain free (in my case).

The Elevare Plus + uses dual action techniques- Red and infrared LED light with heat. Details per Elevare:

Clinically proven and dermatologist recommended, the Elevare Plus + uses red and infrared light and topical heating to rejuvenate the skin – all without side effects.

  • Blu Light Therapy

  • Topical Heat
  • Low- Level Laser

Designed to be effortlessly used at home, Elevare’s devices are wireless and offer an elegant, compact design, each session taking less than thirty minutes.

Elevare’s infrared light penetrates the skin at the dermal level, targeting the underlying hemoglobin to eliminate multiple signs of aging, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and improving the overall appearance of the skin. The thermal activity generated by the probes enhances blood circulation and helps to deliver nutrients and cellular growth factors to treated areas, leaving the skin smooth and youthful.

Elevare Skin has a few other devices like a hair regrowth treatment & blue light acne wand. The Elevare Plus + uses red and infrared light with heat to rejuvenate the skin and help with anti-aging by reducing fine lines & wrinkles, stimulating collagen production as well as even the skin tone and reducing pigmentation issues. You use this device 3 times a week for one month then do maintenance once a month.

Some of the benefits from red light therapy are: mend sun damage, treat fine lines & wrinkles, rejuvenate skin by increasing cellular activity, stimulate collage fiber and elastin production, reduce melanin thus improving pigmentation issues, minimize pore size, reduce inflammation & increase blood flow for better healing of the skin.

Elevare is FDA cleared as a class II medical device & supported by clinical studies. There’s some research by NASA showing LED therapy helps heal human tissue which you can read HERE. Elevare has patented technology and state their devices have wavelength penetration 10x the strength of their competitors. The device has smart sensor technology meaning it only works when in contact with your skin so if you left it on the counter it won’t run.

The best part of the Elevare Plus + is the lifetime warranty. No other device I’ve seen offers a lifetime warranty on their product. You get two years at most. The Elevare Plus + has a wavelength of 750-940 nm which allows it to reach the hypodermis which is the deepest layer of the skin.

This device is easy. I spent about 3-5 min on each cheek/under eye area, 2 min on the nose/chin and 5 min on the forehead, 5 min on the neck. You circle the device but ultimately I found it worked best if I did strokes. You use this on freshly cleansed skin so it can get a little sticky at first and it skips until your skin dries out a little. As with any device it took a little while then I got used to its nuances.

This does get hot while using but it’s not bad. It just took a little while to get used to. I really enjoyed the warmth in the deep of winter. It was kind of soothing. It comes with a docking station/charger and the charge lasts many uses. I didn’t have to charge this that often to be honest. Maybe once a week when using three times a week or once a month when using less.

You use this device on freshly cleansed skin and not over any serums or products. I will say it’s hard to get used to that feeling of dry skin after washing. I normally slap something one my face right after cleansing to prevent that dry tight feeling so this took a while to get used to. The device wipes clean easily after every use. Overall the device is fairly easy to use it just requires discipline to use it regularly. I’m the worst at remembering to use anything on a regular basis (device wise). I actually had to redo my initial one month period twice with this due to being sick and such.

You can see the red glow it emits while using here:

So the ultimate question is does this work? With every use you feel this rejuvenated feeling on your skin. It’s like it wakes up all the cells in your face. I’m extremely skeptical of devices like these. Especially when they’re the cost of a used car. Now you have to factor in the cost of at home treatments with a lifetime warranty versus salon treatments. Basically this gives you at home red and infrared light treatments for life.

I noticed my skin was plumper, firmer and this device helped reduce fine line and wrinkles to some degree. It’s not Botox and I didn’t expect it to be a miracle worker in the wrinkles area. A visible reduction is what I did hope for. The biggest thing the Elevare Plus + did was significantly reduce my melasma and pigmentation issues. This was the best pigmentation fix through a device or topical to date for me. It took about three weeks or so to see the pigmentation results start to occur. After the monthly maintenance session I noticed what pigmentation had started to show up for summer was visibly reduced after one use. This really evens the complexion well.

So I used this as close as I could to three times a week then waited a month and used once a month as the maintenance treatment. I wasn’t perfect at using this three times a week for a month. With kids and a full time job and being tired it’s hard to hit that mark for a 30 minutes session 3x a week. At least for me. I probably did more like 2x a week for eight weeks with some 3x a week here or there. I never experienced any irritation or issues while using. I did skip it on nights when I was sick and my skin was already irritated in general. My skin had this hot kind of pink glowing look for about fifteen minutes after doing a session then it went away back to normal.

I do feel the once a month maintenance treatment is not enough. I’m thinking once a week would be the best. The results started to become less remarkable when only doing monthly. There is such an invigoration to the skin when using this device that using once a week seems both doable and feasible. I need to ask Elevare if this once a week treatment is OK. I’ll have to update this once I find out. I’m so excited I got to try this out. It’s not something I would have tried otherwise. Elevare has been featured in New Beauty magazine and rightfully so it’s worth mentioning. Compared to the other hand held devices I’ve tried the Elevare is pleasant to use (no pain) and it actually delivers results.

Edit: I spoke with Elevare and they say it’s OK to use this weekly or even three times a week still past the initial month if you wish. Those were really just some basic guidelines set up.

Another Edit: In March of 2021 I ordered an Omnilux flexible silicone face mask and really prefer that to this. It’s only 10 minutes instead of 20, I don’t have to look in the mirror to see what I’m doing while using the silicone mask, there’s no heat with the Omnilux which for my worsening rosacea has been better and it’s under $400.

    1. Yes you can use it 3x a week if you still want to, sorry I thought I replied but looks like I forgot sorry

        1. had the same problem. they told me I didn’t register the product, when I did. I didn’t write down my ELV-#. I guess you are provided with that number when you register. They told me no other way to look up the registration, so I’m out $4,100 because the device no longer charges and they will not honor a replacement without the ELV-#, even with the original receipt. Sad and not a good way to do business IMO

          1. AW that sucks. I’m sorry that was your experience. I’d give you mine cause I never use it anymore but I sent it to a friend recently.

  1. Hi,
how long to do charge your device? do you continue charging after the red light below the power button goes off? i read somewhere that the device needs to be charged for 6 hours.

  2. Just got the new Red and I plan to also use it for pain and eczema along with cosmetic use on face. Please update with any new reviews

  3. I ❤️❤️My Elevare. I’m devoted to using 2/3 times a week no mater what. I grab it up from next to my bed & using it before I hit the floor watching the am news. I am 68 & have it about 2 years & it’s easy to add to my skin Anti-Aging Routine along with Roadan & Fields Micro Roller.

  4. I noticed I started to lightly break out after the first week I used it. Not sure what that is about? Is this normal? Will it go away?
Is it okay to use on skin that already has acne or do I need to wait to clear up

  5. Do you still love it? I am reading reviews online for the more expensive version ($8700) and they are not good at all.

    1. Yes I still like it but I never use it. I really want a flexible LED mask at the moment as it will be easier for me. I can’t fathom spending 8700 on one

  6. I had used the devise on/off for about 2 years and recently more consistent for the last month and a half about 3-5x/week with absolute NO RESULTS what so ever. Upset given the fact that the elevare Plus is an expensive devise. Looking into reviews in the web, I am not the only one who has these complaints. Not satisfied at all. Besides, after charging it overnight, it turns off when I first use it for the first 10 mins or so. When I contacted for assistance, I was told to make sure I charge it overnight and no more assistance after that.

    1. I’m sorry that was your experience. I know mine is still working but I don’t work for them so I cannot say on the technical aspects of the device. Lately I’m really into my Omnilux mask
