MAC Strobe Cream Peachlite & Redlite: Review & Swatches

I already talked about MAC’s new Extra Dimension Skinfinish in a recent post. Now onto the new MAC Strobe Creamiconshades. I grabbed shades Redlite and Peachlite.

Per MAC: “Radiant skin in a flash, no matter what the lighting is. M·A·C introduces new shades of our iconic Strobe Cream in peach, silver, red and gold in addition to our original pink shade. The ultimate quick-fix super-powered with potent botanicals, antioxidants and iridescent pearl particles, Strobe Cream de-stresses, de-snoozes, hydrates, freshens and boosts the look of dull, tired-looking skin instantly. Then, add to the beaming effects with Extra Dimension Skinfinish, also in four new shades. Take your place…in the spotlight.

A moisturizer that boosts the look of dull skin and luminizes with iridescent particles. The ultimate quick fix for skin now in shades of pink (original), peach, silver, red and gold. Super-powered with potent botanicals, it boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with nutritious vitamins and a mega-dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Adds the softest glow to skin in sunlight to spotlight.” The retail is $33 for 50ml.
The texture is a light lotion and it has a light fresh scent. It’s not oily or greasy. The shimmer is very fine and adds a luminous glow more than shimmer. The Original Strobe Cream is a bit thicker, the new ones have a thinner texture. The original brightens your skin tone by lightening a bit. The new shades are more luminous with the shade specific tint. Peachlite adds a warm peach glow, it warms up the complexion. Redlite adds a red pearl sheen which I love under foundation.
You can wear these alone for sure, I like them as a moisturizing primer under foundation. You can layer it over or under a regular primer, still under foundation. You can mix it in with foundation to add pearl and sheer it out. I would experiment and see which way you like best. The more you layer over the Strobe Cream, the less you will see the pearl. If you mix the Strobe Cream in foundation the pearl will be more prominent and you get some foundation coverage.
I prefer both new ones to the Original Strobe Cream. They’re thinner and more luminous with color. I would love to compare Pinklite to the Original. See if they’re the same. Maybe next time I make it to the mall. I didn’t grab Goldlite or Silverlite because gold is done so much and silver is usually too cool for my complexion. If you like a moisturizing light textured luminous style lotion or primer-you’ll love these. If you want more of a liquid style highlighter these aren’t for you.
