New Summer Fragrances Post

Last year I wrote about my favorite Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter fragrances. I tend to love summer fragrances the most and thought I would make a post about my newly acquired scents. Most fit in the Summer category but some could be Spring or Fall as well. I love summery sea and aquatic scents so most of these will be in that category.

Tokyo Milk Marine Sel is now discontinued. Per Fragranatica Marine Sel is a Woody Aquatic fragrance for women and men. The fragrance features salt, water notes, soil tincture and driftwood. It’s an EDT and has lower silage and longevity. It has a sea salt yet woody and dry scent.

Byredo Oliver Peoples is a limited edition EDP. It was a 2015 Barney’s exclusive and collaboration between Byredo and Oliver Peoples. You can buy it with or without the sunglasses. Per Fragranatica The composition opens with aromatic juniper berries combined with Californian lemon. The heart highlights iris and patchouli, while the base provides depth and warmth to aromas of sand, musk and immortelle. It has moderate longevity and silage. This is one of those woody, sea scents with a hint of citrus. Notes: Top notes: juniper berries, California lemon; Middle notes: orris butter, patchouli fraction; Base notes: musk, warm sand accord, helichrysum.

Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt is an EDC Spray. It has light woody aquatic scent with light silage and moderate longevity. Escape the everyday along the windswept shore with Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne by Jo Malone. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs, the cologne blends woody earthiness with sage and the sea, conjuring images of breaking waves, and the air fresh with sea salt and spray. Notes: Top: bergamot, ambrette seeds, buchu leaves; Middle: sea salt, mineral accord, dry fruits; Base: driftwood accord, guaiac wood, white musk, sage.

Miller Harris L’Eau Magnetic EDP is by one of my favorite UK perfumeries Miller Harris. This is a newer scent. As always fabulous longevity and silage. L’Eau Magnetic embraces the energetic chaos of the ocean. A deserted cove with sand between your toes, where salty sea breeze mingles with distant pines. Carefree and naturalistic throughout, a marine effect blends Italian bergamot with zingy citron and airy pink pepper. A touch of Venezuelan tonka bean and Vanilla from the Reunion Islands balance against the crisp clarity of white cedar. Fragrance Notes: Top: baies roses, bergamot, lemon; Heart: petit grain, cedre bois blanc; Base: accord tabac, vanille bourbon, tonka bean. This is up there as one of my favorites with Heeley Sel Marin.

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar is a sensuous and delicious blend inspired by travels to faraway destinations. This warm, sultry blend of coconut and delicate creamy vanilla is pure ambrosia. It contains notes of vanilla, coconut, vetiver, and ambrosia flower. This is a sweet vanilla coconut scent. It’s got low longevity and moderate silage. It’s the most gourmand or food like I normally get. I’m usually not into really sweet vanillas, but the coconut rounds it out.

Nomaterra Cape Cod Wild Beach Rose is a new niche brand discovery for me. I grabbed the smaller 10mL roll-on even though I dislike roll-ons in general. I wanted to make sure I liked it first before I splurged on a large bottle. I love it, very rose and beachy combo. Unique, I haven’t had anything like it. It’s got great silage and longevity too. The windswept sandy beaches of Cape Cod nestle into a backdrop of vibrant foliage from surrounding beech and birch trees as fall approaches the coastal town. Wisps of saltwater and citrus wrap themselves around fresh wild flowers anchored by decadent French lavender and warm amber for those chilly fall nights on the coast. A modern remake of the rose accord—crisp, cold, refreshingly transparent yet still elegantly feminine, this fresh-cut beach rose scent was inspired by an excursion up the New England coast in autumn. Notes: Top: bergamot, grapefruit, salt; Heart: ocean water, summer hydrangea, wild beach rose; Base: amber, chilling air, french lavender.

Nomaterra East Hampton Atlantic White Cedar courts you to walk its secret-holding dunes before sunrise, experiencing the solitude of artists and writers past, lured by the promise of a refreshing breeze of wispy green grasses, salty ocean, and a sophisticated blend of weathered woods that embody washed up cedar from the Atlantic, East Indian Sandalwood, and Indonesian Patchouli. An early August morning promises traces of white florals hidden behind stately privets that hide storied lives. An opening of citrus notes and a hint of honey-sweet pear gives brightness to this fresh, green and woody blend, inspired by time spent here during the late summer. Notes: Top: Bosc pear, green leaf, italian bergamot, white grapefruit; Heart: dune grass, gardenia, lily of the valley, magnolia; Base: cedar, east indian sandalwood, marina notes, patchouli, vetyver. This ones a very earthy, dry scent. It has hints of citrus and very faint sea aspects. It feels the most green of the bunch. Great silage and longevity.

Ava Luxe Black Coconut is described as a rich and sweet dark coconut note that’s a bit creamy with a slight rum like overtone. This is a fragrance oil. I see they now have an EDP spray available. This seems to go in and out of stock a lot. I didn’t see a spray when I first ordered. Next time I would grab that instead. The scent is a warm sweet dark rum coconut. I love this. Love it. It has moderate silage and lower longevity.

NUXE Prodigieux Le Parfum is the fragrance version of the cult beachy scented oil. A feminine blend of sunshine and warm sand with notes of Orange Blossom, Magnolia and Vanilla. It’s a sweet beachy scent. It has great longevity and silage.
