Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done: Review & Swatches

I feel like Urban Decay has been on a roll lately. I haven’t been into them for ages but they’ve been coming out quite a bit I like lately. I got the Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector during the Sephora sale. I’m usually not a big BB or CC fan, most are too heavy or greasy for me.

Per Urban Decay: “We’re not exactly what you call low-maintenance when it comes to beauty (and we’re not ashamed to admit it). But we’re more than happy to take a shortcut or two—as long as it doesn’t look like we did. THIS is one of those times. Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector combines all the benefits of skin treatment and protection with the coverage of a sheer foundation. This multitasking cream is the best of both worlds!

Instantly blur imperfections and even out skin tone—for beautifully perfected, ultra definition skin. (Naked Skin One & Done gets the job done so well, there’s no need for foundation.) Our high-tech, weightless formula provides all-day wear and feels amazing. But the best part is how it transforms the look of your skin! Light-diffusing spheres instantly help make flaws seem to disappear. Over time, pores look smaller and skin appears noticeably firmer and more radiant. And our broad range of easy-to-match shades covers a wide spectrum of skin tones.

In a clinical study of Naked Skin One & Done, a majority of participants had:

• An immediate improvement in the look of skin tone that lasted for up to 8 hours.
• A significant improvement in radiance after 12 weeks of use.
• Significantly firmer-feeling skin after 12 weeks of use.
• Visibly smaller-looking pores after 8 weeks of use.

We loaded this oil-free formula with so many nourishing ingredients (including peptides, vitamins and moisturizers), you’ll be tempted to skip your skin treatment. Gatuline® Radiance—derived from the wu zhu yu plant—improves the look of radiance, tone and texture. And SPF 20 protects against sun damage. “

The retail is $34 for 40 mL. It comes in an airless tube pump so you can get all the product out. Now that all the technical stuff is out of the way, I got shade Medium. I toyed between Light Medium and Medium. Light Medium was just a touch too light for me maybe NC20-25 range. Medium is a touch dark more in the NC25-30 range. I chose Medium as it looked the best on me and covered my cheek redness better. I’m right around NC 25. Medium can give you a bit of a tan look if you’re around or lighter than me.

The texture is a thicker liquid. It has no big scent I noticed. It covers really well for this type of product. It’s light and not a heavy greasy feeling type of BB cream. It does have a silicone feel. It’s lighter on the silicone and almost reminds me of a bigger & better Sunday Riley Effortless Primer. It’s more pigmented than the primer, it spreads well and covers pores, yet it’s light and not greasy for a silicone product. It has a blurring effect. This does dry down a bit. It’s not necessarily skin like, but as close as you get for a silicone do it all product. I don’t like heavy silicone products. I do like Sunday Riley’s primer and now this. They’re both lighter, less heavy. If you compare Sunday Riley’s primer and this Naked Skin One & Done to Smashbox’s original primer they all have silica, dimethicone and cyclopentasiloxane. The difference is Smashbox has trisiloxane and this must be the heavy silicone that makes me not like the Smashbox primer.

Naked Skin One & Done covers very well, like a light to medium foundation. It helps cover and blur pores. It has a nice easy texture that’s even and buildable. The slippery, silky feel it has is nice. It didn’t irritate my skin or break me out. This did function as a primer and foundation in one. Plus there is sunscreen. Great for a lazy all in one day. For a BB style product it’s a step above and won’t break the bank. I can’t attest to it’s skincare benefits as I only use it here or there, you would have to use this everyday for weeks to be able to tell.
