Christian Dior Rouge Dior Baume: Review & Swatches

I wanted to try this formula so bad when I first heard about it. I waited until it came to Sephora though. I got three shades 258 Kew Gardens, 640 Milly and 740 Escapade and they are in the same order left to right below.

So I must say the colors are more pigmented than I thought. Kew Gardens is a clear base mostly with peachy gold pink shimmer, overall it’s sheer with shimmer. Milly is a light pink beige with shimmer. It’s fairly opaque and has a whitish base. Escapade is a deeper nude rose, it has slight shimmer in the tube but it applies like a cream on the lips. It’s opaque and pigmented.

The formula itself is disappointing however. It’s more like a sheer lipstick than a baume. It’s not hugely moisturizing. It has a texture that applies unevenly in general. It settles in my liplines. I will not be buying anymore of these. For $15 more I’d rather get the Tom Ford Lip Shines. Overall the effect is not a glossy look, it almost has a satin look. I also don’t like that the case is a rectangle, so you have to pay attention to how you close it. It only closes 2 ways instead of 4 which makes you have to pay attention when shutting it versus not having to think about it like most lipsticks.
