Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops

Drunk Elephant is one of my favorite brands. I was skeptical when I saw D-Bronzi launch as it seemed like something totally not for me. I’m not a big fan of bronzer anymore. This “bronzer” seemed unique enough to warrant trying it, plus it’s Drunk Elephant.

Details per Drunk Elephant:

Like sunshine’s bronzy color, delivered without the damage. D-Bronzi™ is an easy way to get a bronzy glow without the long-term consequences.

A chronopeptide that mimics the antioxidant benefits of vitamin D, omega-rich virgin marula and black currant seed oils, along with vitamin F (fatty acids), immediately replenish the delicate balance that supports a healthy barrier function of skin, while a concentrated mix of protective antioxidants boosts skin’s defenses against pollution and environmental stressors…all delivered with a bronzy finish. D-Bronzi’s just-got-back-from somewhere glow flatters every complexion.

Raw, unrefined cocoa powder adds an infusion of good-for-skin polyphenols, while platinum peptide acetyl tetrapeptide-17 strengthens.

“I’m inside most days. I don’t wear foundation, but I really wanted a little something I could mix into my other products to give my skin some color. The problem was I didn’t want to risk a breakout and I couldn’t find one that fit my Suspicious 6-free criteria. So, after a few attempts, we landed on a silky, natural-looking, bronzing concentrate. My chemist told me later that they were high-fiving each other in the lab because they had never before been able to create a formulation like this that was silicone-free. D-Bronzi™ is made of vitamins, antioxidants, platinum peptides and barrier-supportive fatty acids that defend skin from environmental free radicals. It’s a gorgeous sheer bronzer that I formulated with skin health top-of-mind…like sunshine in a bottle without the damage. I hope you fall #drunkinlove!”

xx, Tiffany

Directions Add a drop or more of D-Bronzi™ to any Drunk Elephant serum, sunscreen, oil or moisturizer for a gorgeous glow and a potent dose of protective antioxidants and omega fatty acids.

D-Bronzi comes packaged in an airless plastic pump tube. I love the cool bronze details on this packaging. D-Bronzi is a concentrated shimmering bronze pigment/serum/liquid. It’s not meant to be used alone. Mix it with foundation, primer or moisturizer for an easy bronze summer glow. The color of this bronzer is more neutral versus orange bronze which I prefer. I need less than one pump for my face. I like to mix it with foundation mostly to add a hint of glow and warmth. It would be fine mixed in a lotion or something similar as well. I wouldn’t recommend mixing it with sunscreen as sunscreen is designed to be used in it’s full concentration. Diluting it could lead to improper coverage and less sun protection. Sunscreens are generally tested for efficacy on clean, dry skin with nothing else in between. The more you mess that up the more it may not work as intended.

I love the idea that this is a bronzer with skincare benefits. It’s got antioxidants cocoa, white tea & vitamin E. Vitamin F, marula & black currant oil hydrate & nourish. The platinum peptides & chronocyclin are interesting. While D-Bronzi touts skincare benefits I use such a small amount of it (1/3-1/2 pump on average) I don’t know that I really get all that many extra skincare benefits from that small occasional amount (I don’t use this everyday). I really think of this more as a cosmetic or makeup item like liquid bronzer than skincare and it’s cheap enough at $36 considering I’m using such a small amount. I’ve barely made a dent in my tube since it launched. I like this to warm up a foundation. It can make that too pale winter foundation summer appropriate. So if you like bronzer and want a natural shimmering glow (no glitter) you can cutomize, with the potential of some added skincare benefits than this might be for you.
