Su-man Refining Facial Polish

Su-man is a brand I adore. I have pretty much tried the entire line now minus the sheet mask. That’s only because I don’t really like sheet masks nor do I tend to ever buy them. You can check out my old blog post intro to the brand HERE. The Refining Facial Polish is new. I’ve actually been playing with it since it launched last year. Details per Su-man:

Key Ingredients Watermelon & Ginkgo Biloba

Directions Apply a small amount onto dry clean skin, firmly massage for a minute and rinse off with warm water. Use 2-3 times a week.

Of Note Massaging into skin transforms this lightweight gel into tiny particles, buffing the complexion into a silky refined and rejuvenated radiance. (Keep this in mind for later)

The product texture is a thicker gel & has a faint citrus scent. I love the plastic tube it comes in. It has the twist top that never comes off like the cleansing oil. This exfoliates with gentle physical exfoliation as well as chemical from fruit acids. When this gel gets massaged onto dry skin it turns into little balls that exfoliate the skin very gently. I know when you first use this it seems like maybe that’s dead skin coming off but it’s not. This product transforms into that organic gentle scrub once massaged onto dry skin. It will not transform if you use this on wet skin, I tried it. The best way to describe the feel that it transforms into is like wet paper shreds maybe? That’s a terrible analogy but it’s hard to describe until you try it. It’s very gentle.

My skin felt like it was gently exfoliated after using. It was smoother and more radiant. I normally don’t like these kinds of ‘transforming’ peeling masks. The texture of the natural exfoliant kind of turns me off. Every nurse has their one bodily function or part they are turned off by. Mine is dry or dead skin. I would rather touch anything else than that. If you’re a nurse you know what I mean. I have a hard time by these types of products because it reminds me of that and I have a hard time using it. I think this product works, it’s gentle. It uses manual and chemical exfoliation which is nice. I just can’t handle the texture it transforms into for my own crazy reasons.

One of the main ingredients is Watermelon. I can’t say it better than Su-man did:

Ginko Biloba It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to protect and regenerate the skin. It is a great antioxidant and helps prevent premature ageing.

Pomegranate Extract Contains powerful antioxidants that nourish the skin, prevent damage caused by free radicals and help in stimulating the skin cell aiding cellular regeneration. Also a great anti-ageing, moisturising and exfoliating ingredient.

Papain/Papaya Extract Is abundant in vitamins A, C and E. The enzyme papain breaks down inactive proteins, eliminates dead skin cells and exfoliates your skin, leaving you with a glowing complexion.

Calendula Is beneficial for dry and damaged skin, and its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties promote the fast healing and regeneration of the skin by stimulating the blood supply to the skin. It makes the skin suppler and more resistant to mechanical and chemical irritants.
